    Default Looking for duo builds

    Hi guys,

Does anyone have two build combos (or links to threads) that work good together that you would recommend to run all these quests with? I'm looking forward to more updated/current builds with the updates of late.

Both builds have access to 32 points as well as all races and classes.

Your help will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

Tons of duo suggestions in the forums if your search fu is good.

Classic responses are dual WF sorcerers or dual clerics/favored soul. Many other combos work.

Often a rogue splash is suggested and this isn't necessarily bad.

Dual battleclerics with minor splashes have a lot of potential. Personally, I'd go with cleric/monk in a 17/3 or 18/2 split or cleric/paladin/monk in a 15/3/2 split. You could swap favored soul for the cleric class, although the idea of a battlecleric is to melee as the first option and use spells as the second. Cleric gives you the ability to push Divine Vitality at one another.

I've tried a few duo combos as a new player and the only thing that really makes a big difference in play enjoyment for me is whether or not a trapmonkey is available (being instakilled by traps gets old REALLY fast). Some kind of rogue splash is ideal.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I'm essentially looking for builds for two-man groups. I was thinking of one playing being a wiz(18)/rog(2) and another in the form of a battle cleric such as clr(12)/mnk(6)/ftr(2). Both of these could work as human in this case.

I'd just like to know what others would recommend as well. My experiences with many of the builds as well as high level characters is little to none.

EDIT: I've also found many builds that appear to be somewhat outdated (posted 1-2 years ago or older). I'm unsure if some of those builds need to be "revised".

    Perhaps a WF Barbarian/Bard and a WF 2 rogue/18 Wiz?

One for DPS and songs, the other for locks and magic? Just a thought

A WF wiz/rog and a WF dark monk? Really any type of wf melee works well with an arcane rog as a second. The main reason I recommend wf for the wiz is for self repairing as well as tank repairing.

Well, monk is a good option as they get self healing to a certain extent.

A couple of things to think about. In a larger group you can cover all your bases -- healer, trap monkey, aggro pulling, DPS, buffs, etc. In a duo you can only cover some of them, so you have to make choices.

You should consider if raise dead is important or not. If it is then a cleric or favored soul will be called for. You can get away with a paladin but....

One combo that could work is a warforged favored soul using the build found here combined with your standard 18/2 warforged wizard/rogue. The FvS build offers plenty of melee ability and also gives decent cleric spells (including raise dead) while the wiz/rogue handles traps and any major caster chores.

As I said in my first reply, plenty of options.

Any class with UMD will be able to raise dead. It need not be restricted to cleric and fvs.

IMO, you first have to decide what you want to do. Really, any duo of well built toons can own most of DDO. Two fighters, two bards, two rogues, two whatever. However, obviously some combos are better than others. Also, some will be restricted to content.

You want a duo that has the potential to solo raids? You'll probably want a wf sorc duo or wf sorc and clr.

Rogues really aren't needed unless you're doing elites, and you can always splash rogue.

Decide what you want your goals to be, then decide if you have restrictions(like melee only).

Otherwise without a doubt 2 clerics or 2 sorcs, or a combo is by far the best duo, imo. Personally, I can't stand playing casters, but you may differ.
