It's a little worrying that the ability to crunch runes up a step could lead to Stealer of Souls being run even less than it is now, because it may be easier (although less fun) to repeat Prey three times.

People will run SoS a lot more, IMO.

You can make three Tempest runes into a random Sovereign, or instead you can run SoS in a full group (where you coordinate so that you want different runes) - perhaps you have a fighter chasing +3 Dodge, a rogue chasing Radiance Guard, an arcane chasing Spell Pen 8, a barbarian chasing Earthen Guard, and a cleric chasing any incapacitating guard.

In this situation, currently each has about a 3% chance to get their chosen rune (higher on the cleric as they are happy with several options). They also have 3% if they take three Tempest RUnes.

Post change, they have 18% each to get their dream rune (assuming they all help each other out), but still 3% if they crunch up.


Your other point on reflagging sucking (especially after a failure) still holds.

QFT...on the money. I can see our guild running a lot more SOS in the future to get everyone their Soveriegns. Grinding Prey will still be the same bore-fest that it is today, so would much rather do SOS and divy up the goodies.

And yes, please, have mercy...if you aren't going to change the flagging mechanic (which isn't a big deal to me), at least make the essences stack (which is a big deal to me)!

And while we are in the process of these fantastic changes, can ya also kick the ship navigator in the rear and tell him to port me into the refuge instead of to the boat? I mean really, that navigator is quite lazy, putting me a whole 1 zone away from the marketplace...

When you break apart a Tempest you get either 2 Eldritch +X Draconic, or 1 Eldritch +X Draconic +X Draconic runes.

Can you break a Tempest Rune down?

My impression was that you could only break down a Sovereign. Hoping I'm wrong

All of the runes are now named, so you can trade them in the chest with each other if you want, and if you have any three lower tier "junk" runes you can upgrade them a tier, and if you have a "junk" high tier rune you can smash it back into random other stuff.
