This tactic works great with a team that gets what you are doing or in solo. At best you are one room ahead of the party and just enthrall everything.

If you are in a guild which has access to the guild wand vendor you can buy level 8 fireball wands and some force missle ones, with used with the wands mastery do good enough damage to be of some use, at least in mid levels.
Heck, I do that with just invis on my Warchanter. More bards need to do that. It trivialized something for our raid last night that can often be a [insert colorful description here] in PuG's - the trip down to VoD. Half the group was lost already, some people had been killing archers and the people that knew what was going on managed to save the last archer with just a sliver, and I knew people were going to start zerging for the lever (and probably die). I had the entire path to the lever fascinated before they even started going up. A few 20's from the mobs where they stayed awake but I have the hp's to absorb the odd hit or spell so I just kept going and finished lining up all the pins for the group to knock them down.
