Elite unlocking in ddo store

The thing is... allowing non VIP players to open on anything other than normal would make grinding TP *much* easier. That is like Turbine giving away money, so, unless you are willing to forfeit the TP rewards for favor in exchange for higher opening ability, I doubt very highly that Turbine would do this. I just wouldn't make sense from their perspective.

having a F2P/Premium player spend TP on a feature that makes them want to play even more is a good way to generate more TP purchases, in the long run.

Player wants to grind for TP, but HATES the idea of doing it on normal/hard/elite, because he feels it takes too long.....

spends RL $$ for TP to get access to hard/elite opening status.

Now, rather than him begging people to open on elite for him, he can do it himself. he gets others to join him, and they play a lot more, and the player seems to be happier.

Turbine gets RL $$$, and player gets what he wants, with little to on one getting hurt.

it will suddenly become viable to grind this tp out wich will will netto make a loos for tp. also becus only 1 player needs to buy it and then 5 others also can profit.

aint gonna happen, personally i think vip could use a boost. not in packs or game breaking stuff like more money for packs (u want as many as premium players have all the packs cus more people attract more people) but something like the elite opening for instance. monthly free random store presents could be another.

F2P players already get people to open up quests on elite for them, I see it all the time in gen chat, and for the more savvy ones, in LFMs.

Turbine is already losing out, and the only way they can stop others from openning quests on elite for others it to make all quests solo-only.

If F2P players dont have an option to buy open on hard, they will rather farm TP and fill up general chat with "ne1 open kobold assault on leet plz"??? garbage.....

The one thing F2P grinding players hate more than anything is wasting time, and why not allow them to spend $$$ for the initial TP (and becoming Premium by doing so) to get a jump, and open on hard?

I see it as a win for Turbine, because F2P is getting to open on elite already for free, just by bothering those of us who can.

Well check your ddo store guys/gals. Seems they did it anyway.

Personally, I'm finding it hard to justify my paying VIP now. There are no real benifits to VIP that cant just be bought by favour farming mules. Couple of hours per 100 TP and even less if you get guildies to pre set quets for you.

5 guildies, one mule. they preset the quests. mule drops in, finish, jump out. onto next one.

There are no real benifits now to being vip and paying constantly. Its just as easy to drop the vip and buy the packs with the free tp points you can farm. So essentially you could have all the packs free also over time.

I think DDO are shooting themselves in the foot doing this. Once their VIP subs start dropping, maybe they will make it worth us paying those fees each month.

Maybe a recharging tele wand for all vip's, regardless of class of toon. Faster travel would in itself make it worthwhile. F2p can tele also if they have the class to do it / umd? Ok. then make the tele wand to quest. Any vip can intantly teleport to the quest entrance of any quest ONCE every 12 hours per quest, but only if you've already completed the quest on normal + before.

Nice perk for vip, and doesn't detract from the game overall either. Its also just enough to make f2p consider actually paying subs for that.

come on. hello i'm not going to waste points on a 1x use item for only one quest its a waste of my time and my effort TRUBINE.
most ppl in the thread were talking about unlocking elite on either just one server or for there acount not just one quest. i wasted TP on a contract folder that i couldn't transfer to another toon on the same sever 500 points down the drain use ur heads for once and just put somthing to unlock elite for the sever/acount!!!!!

And Lord_WC would suggest that one day a week instead of playing ddo you go and work for half an hour. That should cover your sub fee many times over, and frees up time to actually play the game instead of grinding TP to be able to play the game - later.

I would really love to see that coming to the store, because when i am TRing a character i really want to have a challenge from quests. Now i have to run them on normal first then hard and then i am already totally bored with that quest.

The problem with giving VIP's these kind of perks is that Turbine advertises with two different kind of payments.

Its like buying a house or renting that same one, both should be the same house.

I still think the pack should be expensive 1000-1500 TP.

There ya go guys, hard and elite quest unlocks, yeah its only for one quest a time, but hey its better than nothing.

Some things need to remain subscription only, if not whats the point. Personally I think leveling sigils should have NEVER been removed, and honestly I think all new packs or at the very least named loot should be vip only for the first month or two..... OH thats to much of a perk for *vips*... well hmm.. maybe you should leave well enough alone and let them have what little the already have.

Disagree allowing people to just buy for a small fee one of the few real perks vips gets hurts me and makes me sad

I was wondering the same thing. Two months ago, the ability to unlock difficulties via the DDO store did not exist. Considering the suggestions of the OP has largely been implemented, this thread should be closed. >.>

I fail to see the issue here,the unlocks cost 95tp each,they are only good for 1 quest,1 time,they would be useless to favor farmers,it would be nice for premiums/f2p whos skipped a lower lvl quest (like MP for example)and just wanted to run it once for favor,but as far as farming goes it would be pretty stupid to spend 500+?(not sure how many quests need to be ran for 100 favor) tp to get 25.

I think I would like to see item in DDO Store allowing TRs (and only TRs) to open quest on hard or at level avaible to them in previous life. This should cost 500-1500TP and should be lost at next TR.

You are kidding right? 95pts per quest, per character, which you have to buy again if you TR (for every quest and every character)? Those are the biggest rip-off since +2 brigandine was added to the store.

If there are something like 200 quests in game (and I believe there are quite a few more than that), then a single character would cost about 20k TP to unlock all on elite. Thats 200k TP if you have 10 characters. Whining? You bet there will be. And in this case it is VERY appropriate.
