Best early game weapon for Human Cleric?

I'm considering making a Human Offensive Caster build, something like:

Str 14, Dex 8, Con 14, Wis 16, Int 8, Cha 14.

And to pick up Proficiency: something to do some damage at level 1-10 before using the free feat swap to exchange it to a metamagic at level 11 (when BB becomes available).

I'm thinking Greataxe for Carniflex. Suggestions?

Personally, I'd just take the Follower of the Sovereign host enhancement to get
access to longswords. After that, two of the best lowbie weapons for clerics are
from the Sharn Syndicate pack, as end rewards from Come Out and Slay:

Nicked Heavy Mace

Nicked Longsword

Put a good shield in your other hand, and you're good to go.

Don't forget that feat swaps up to level 8 are virtually free, even my permadeath characters easily gather enough dragonshards + plat for at least one feat swap between levels 5-8. This can give you more flexibility in a build like this, allowing something like SF: Evocation, or even a Weapon Focus feat swapped for Maximise at level 8.

Well for this build literally anything is possible. My inner munchkin cries bitter tears of frustration that there's no ridiculously uber 2-handed exotic weapon type (e.g., scythe) that I can take.

If you are making an offensive caster build I strongly suggest maxing your WIS. AN a cleric build every point of DC helps as some clerics have trouble fitting in heighten and very few have room for spell focus feats. In the alternative, you could do a lesser reincarnation at some point do do both your feat swap and max your wisdom.

It can be tricky to do that on a 28 point build so another alternative is to get 1750 favour and then do a greater reincarnation to make it a 32 pointer (and feat swap and max WIS). With all the new low level content you should be able to get that 1750 by level 12ish.

I recommend saving that free one for later levels when the cost can be prohibitive. It is very easy to afford the low levels feats swaps if you save your dragonshards.
