Default First Greensteel item should be a?

What should I make for my first green steel item? Im sure an conc item is going to be recomended but what is the best slot to occupy as a WF wizzie?

My first inclination is goggles as their arent many named goggles i can think of that I really want. what is the general consensus?

    Default On the right track

In my opinion, your initial instincts have lead you to the correct conclusion.

Goggle slot, con op item. Gets my vote as a wizards first piece of greensteel everytime.
For that matter, it was the first item i built for my cleric and both my favoured souls (regardless that they are torced), same slot, same item.

The last wizard i set up with greensteel had blindness/disease immunity first tier, spell points (char skills) 2nd tier, spell points (char skills) 3rd tier, dual shard, concordant opposition.

I'd recommend it as a solid choice.

And for the future : that same toon's next piece of greensteel was a 3 tier cold absorbsion dagger for his kiting runs in TOD. I know it's not 'absolutely required', but i can say with certainty that my kiter always gets invited to do TOD, and always gets the job done. Just for the future .

IMO a raise dead clicky should be everyone's first greensteel item

Very handy, only needs tier 2 - the cheap small/med ingredients everyone has tons of. I usually put it on a thrown weapon (easier to use on someone & for stealth/those target lever quests), but you could also go with +25 hp somewhere while you're stockpiling the larges to make a better tier 3.

Most of the casters can use raise dead scrolls. If not 100%, it's not a waste to use couple scrolls to get a good roll to save up a party.

    Default what i do.

I use the bracer slot for my cordOp slot on my main wiz. On other guys I use the goggles slot for cordOp so I would say one of them.

However unless your going to wait until you have all the ingredients before starting your first GS most people have 2 or more items started. And I like to start my cordOp and a weapon. I recommend a holy, good burst weapon so you have an option to swing for some damage when able. Say a held or stoned mobs or portals. And it happens to be a rez clicky.

It's not necessary about the cost of an extra scroll or two. When a squishy caster fails the jump in elite Rainbow, you will eventually get him, no rush. Clickies are about reliability. When the cleric took two consequent cometfalls, desintegrate from Raiyum or was fireballed/electrocuted on 1-st base you don't necessary have unlimited attempts to fix the mess. You want to get him up and you can't allow stupid concentration/UMD checks to get in your way.

Of course the situations above shouldn't be your routine and therefore raise dead clickies are not #1 priority on UMD toons.

Krag, I see your point it's still not worth a craft. Faster to make another toon and farm enough turbine pts to buy a res wand from store.

GS extra spell points stacks with everything except spell point boosts on dragontouched.

First of all, do you get beat on a lot?

If yes, Concordant Opposition is absolutely worth it. If not, the spell point recovery from the Concordant opposition Guard isn't really going to be all that great. You get more bang for the buck for the Torc of Raiyum from DQ.

A triple-earth item for hitpoints, constitution skills, and earthgrab guard might be good. And those Dense Stone Elementals aren't bad either. Or else a Mineral 2 accessory if you need the Heavy Fortiification.
