    Default 18 Ranger/2 Fighter build

I'm looking for a current build for an 18 Ranger/2 fighter including what enhancements I should take and in what order. Most of the builds I'm finding are 2-3 years old and I'm curious if they still apply or if there is something better out there right now. I want to play a Dwarf Ranger with Dwarven War axes unless going Human with khopesh's is better or more advantageous. I'm also open to other builds suggestions as well. I figure I'll get the general serach the forum comments (which I've done) but like I said, I'm looking for something other than 3 year old posts. Thanks for the help.

I have a ranger/2fighter and its one of my favorite chars. He is human with khopeshes.
I havent yet tried a dwarven version but it sounds fun.

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

The general consensus is khopeshes are the best overall DPS choice; but dwarf w/DAxes (+racial enhs) is close enough that only the minmaxers care about the difference, AFAICT. And the silver lining to going with a less popular weapon like DAxes is they're less expensive on the AH than khopeshes.

As for why you don't see any recent rgr 18 / ftr 2 builds, my guess is they've fallen out of favor compared to 18 / 1 / 1 builds like, say, like tihocan's Tempest or the Exploiter. Still, the extra feat and +1 STR enh from ftr 2 doesn't suck, IMHO, esp. if you don't care about rogue skills and don't have monk unlocked yet.

What do you have to work with in terms of build pts, tomes, etc.?

    Dwarf str build Tempest.

    Simple as that.

Axe enhancement lines, Tempest 3, con and toughness lines, favored enemy damage lines.

I have unlocked the 32 pt build, but I do not have any tomes yet.

Here's a stupid-simple build to get you started - in fact it's so stupid I didn't even spend all the enh pts or pick skills. Max STR, Tempest III, no tomes req'd (but will need +6 WIS item someday). At low lvls you may be better off with greataxes than TWF: depends on how much trouble you have hitting things.
