    Default Dagger

Hi all, I'm rather new but I do have the 32 pt builds. I was wondering if there is a possibility of a dagger build for a newer player without lots of cash. I'd like to be dagger dps + UMD. Can someone help me with this build? I have all the unlocks for classes/races and 32 pt build.

honestly the daggers can be an after thought. any of the build on here for rogues that are decent have imp crit: slashing/piercing, what ever build you get make sure its for pirecing or change it to pireing. then the daggers are just the poor mans rapier. its actually a decent budget version. just grabbing daggers or shortswords. if you ever wanted to upgrade to rapiers just grab and equip. there is no real specialzation bonuses for a dagger.

Any 1/2 decent rogue build with improved crit pierce can use daggers and fix your request. The only benefit that daggers have over shortswords is that they aren't as good - and therefor cheaper.

Read my pure halfling rogue in my build index - it's just a very standard rogue build.

Will do, the daggers are more of an RP thing truthfully, thats why I love this game because it may not be the BEST build, but it'll still be doable =) I like the idea of a traditional rogue, carrying two daggers sneaking and attacking at will, causing general chaos :P I'd like to do dwarf or human, but I guess halfling would work as well. And cheaper is good, as I really enjoy this game so I subscribed to support turbine(I played AC1 and feel very passionate about supporting the development of good games!) And bought a few points to get FS/Drow/32pt build.

Human and Halfling are your best choices.

Halflings are going to be the better backstabbers, trap smiths, and stealth characters.
Humans will have more HP, and an extra feat.

Don't buy drow - by level 8 you will have them unlocked... plus they are kinda weak.

I really wish they'd throw in some kind of motivation to use daggers. Something like "Daggers add half of your dex bonus to your damage". Would make them great finesse build weapons and actually desireable.

Truly the RP draw to make a sneaky backstabber is strong, would be nice for it to be rewarded in some way.

We can hope and wish, and if there is one thing I learned from playing Asheron's Call 7+ years ago, if you submit a suggestion to Turbine, with enough backing they may grant it. They've always done things like that! I love the RP draw of daggers, and they're cheap(hooray).

Right now we have Sneak Attack +5 (+8 damage) on randomly generated weapons, I'd like to see something small like Sneak Attack +6 (+10 damage) exclusive to randomly generated daggers.

... or a rogue prestige that increase the crit multiplier to x4 :P

Goldeneye, do I need oversized weapon fighting if I'm using daggers? What could I replace this with @ lvl 3 feat? I saw you state I could drop some Str for Dex, trade OTWF for Finesse, is that the path?

by the by a traditional rogue will not carry duel daggers they hide 50 up their shirt sleeves.

Short swords, kukris, sickles, light mace, light picks, and daggers are not over sized you can off hand them w/o any extra penalty.

I'd love to carry dual sickles, but those are called khopesh correct? and insanely expensive? What are kukris?I'd like to carry dagger main hand kukris offhand but that requires 2x speciality?

I use Daggers on my 2x TR'd Rogue. And I don't roleplay: I'm a bored gamer that thought that maybe using Daggers would add a certain level difficulty to an all to easy game. And I was right.

    This is my standard set...

+5 Supreme Tyrant Green Steel Dagger of Radiance

+5 Supreme Tyrant Green Steel Dagger of Lightning

Correct. Dual weilding daggers - you don't need OTWF.
    • DEX Based: Finesse - higher to-hit, higher AC, reflex saves. Higher dex-based skills. Can only use light weapons. requires an extra feat.
    • STR Based: Can use any weapon. Higher damage. Not as reliant on sneak attack for damage.

If you're going DEX/Finesse, follow the instructions in the FAQ:

A.Personally, I’m not a fan of finesse builds. I don’t like the slight loss of damage, and I don’t like being restricted to light weapons only. If you want a finesse build, drop STR, increase DEX, and drop Oversized TWF for Finesse.

    • Sickles are simple weapons. You will be able to use them. They are slashing weapons.
    • Khopeshes are "Exotic Weapons" meaning that you need to spend a feat in order to use them. They do more damage on crit... however you must have STR and that feat.
    • Kukri's are marital weapons. Rogues aren't proficient w/ kukris. They are like sickles, but have a higher chance to crit. They are also slashing.

If you set yourself up for daggers you'll get the imp crit pierce feat (at level 12?) and your increased crit range w/ piercing weapons won't effect slashing weapons (sickles, khopeshes, or kukris). Sickles you'll be able to use... but they will only crit 5% of the time. Khopesh and Kukris you'll not be proficient in, and thus have a harder time hitting enemies.

Sorry for the block of text. I hope this makes sense!

khopeshes and sickles are two different types of weapons.

    Kukris are slashing daggers, basically.
