I've always wondered how a spellsword would work out in DDO. After spending some spare time and fleshing one out on the character planner I still don't know how it will turn out. I wanted to create a competent melee combatant that could self buff and still substitute as a decent caster.
Before I let everyone constructively criticize the build i just threw together in a few minutes.. I'd like to state that... This Build is meant just for a class mix that's fun to play... there's no 'be all/ end all' about this build Just leave a few comments on what you think about it. How to improve the class or maybe something negatives that I haven't thought about yet.
So here it is... i'll explain why I picked what I did at the end of the code.

One last thing to point out. I plan to gear myself realistically. I hate the Titan. I will NOT have a chattering ring. I'd rather NOT spend time getting dragonscales or some collectable to get a great piece of gear. You can assume i'm be 'generically geared' Remember this a build that I just plan to have fun with.
[B]Race[\B]
I picked Elf for a few reasons. Arcane Fluidity. This would be a great help and allow the spellsword to be a little more flexible with what armor I wear. Elves also have a few SP enhancements that may be nice to utilize as well. I didn't pick drow because I would not be able to take advantage of their CHA+ bonus. Spell Resistance really made the choice hard though. I could have gone with warforged except i'm an no experienced enough with understanding their enhancements and docents to confidently make a decision. I did notice that i'd be able to heal myself as a WF but... still isn't worth it to me. If anyone had any insight on that i'd appreciate it.
[B]Class[\B]
Fighter just seemed like an easy choice. Combat feats a few combat oriented boosts that I'd probably mess around with. Now for the tough choice... Wizard or Sorcerer? I picked Wizard so i'd have more inflexibility in quests as far as my spells went. I didn't think SP would too much of a problem though.
[B]Skills[\B]
Don't bother reading them.. .I just randomly picked some... except Concentrate.
[B]Feats[\B]
Since most of my levels will be in Wizard i'll have to take multiple Toughness feats to even get close to a decent number of hitpoints. i'm definitely going to head towards spring attack and possible at power attack at sometime since it works with weaponfinesse. Mental Toughness and Combat Casting are also feats i'd be interested in taking.
Enhancements
Arcane Fluidity
Elven Arcanum
Fighter Str I
Wizard Int II
Elven Dex II
Scholar III
Fighter Boosts I
If you have a better combination please suggest!
Spells
Here's the plan. Buff myself with the usual buffs. Blur, GH, haste, displace... blah blah... then afterwards... Drop a Tenser's Transformation on myself. Since the spell only lasts 90s it wouldn't be too long of an interval to not cast spells. it lasts basically as long as haste does anyways. That's the main reason to get to level 11 as a wizard. To use Tenser's. Tenser's is a 6th level spell, as far as buffing goes i'd be happy getting to 5th level spells or a 9th level wizard. that allows for me to use Tenser's on a scroll... but that's... expensive.
It seems that with Tenser's also replaces my to hit with whatever it'll substitute, i'm not sure whether it will replace attack bonuses that are even higher than it. which would be bad.
There it is... Go ahead everyone critique. please be gentle.
