Default 14/x - What gives you the highest dps?

    Satisfy my curiosity.

With a minimum of 14 Bard levels, what splash gives the maximum personal dps (twf)?

I figure Halfling, with the following options:

    1) 14/6 Bard/Kensai
    2) 14/6 Bard/Tempest
    3) 14/6 Bard/FB (Hard to wrangle, with the cleave feat as a pre-req).
    4) 14/5/1 Bard/Rogue/Fighter
    5) 14/4/2 Bard/Fighter/Barbarian

Anyone got a good idea on the numbers? Or other realistic builds?

    Cheers

    voting 4 also
if your a TR person with access to past lifes then more fighter feats might lend you higher dps excluding this 4

14/4 rogue/2 fighter seems better as 14/5/1 seems feat light as you only get 8 feats and I'd want at minimum 9:

    WF: Slash
    Toughness
    PA
    TWF
    iTWF
    gTWF
    Extend
    iCrit:Slash
    Khopesh

6 Levels of rogue seems pretty nasty too.

I'd love to go 14/x on my bard.... but I think people expect a bard to have Inspire Heroics (+4 AC bard song - which you get at level 15 bard).

14/5/1 bard/rogue/fighter is what I'd like to have (or maybe even 14/6 bard/rogue), but I think I may have to settle for 15/4/1 instead.

The Rogue levels give you the most DPS, however the DPS is very situational and cannot be applied a lot of the time. The 14/6 Bard/Fighter will give you the highest DPS that will not rely on you avoiding agro.

    Default Freddie's back!

I had a few minutes to blow, nothing earth shattering, but every once in a while, I love to be different! How about bard 12, rogue 7, fighter 1? Max sneak attack bonus, max umd, max perform, near max songs, hero companion, evasion. Under the right circumstances, this build would do massive dps.

I prefer the 4 fighter/2 barb combo the best, however halfling rogues synergize like crazy. Going 12 bard you lose some bard abilities but maximize the rogue SA to hit and damage.

6 barb would be sweet if you went WF, but personally, I hate robots.

14 bard is the usual cut-off for song buffs (bards get the extra +1/+1 to hit/damage from their songs at 14)

Of course, some people say 15 is lowest cut-off for the Heroics Song

And others say 16 for the level 6 spells...

Im of the 16 cutoff, myself. 14 will grant you more dps, but 16 offers in my opinion better survivability and variety. Since the dps of a 16 is wicked, I just cant get excited about losing mass healing and irresistible dance, as well as spell dc. ...and as you said max bard songs and heroics are gold.

I guess now with epics, irresistable dance is useful... Before when all end-game mobs had Spell Resistance, it was pretty pointless for a 16/x bard

More personal dps? No way. More group dps? I think that would depend on how geared you are and the makeup of your group.
