    Default Which level 6 spells?

I will be leveling up my wizard to level 11 this week and was wondering if I could get some input on which level 6 spells I should take and load up.

    Thanks.

if youre a warforged, Reconstruct is a no-brainer

disintegrate works on everything so its pretty much an essential... makes fights agains golems a lot easier

flesh to stone is good for crowd control, especially in gianthold & reavers refuge, giants tend to fail their saves a lot

greater heroism is a great buff which includes fear immunity, handy when facing mummies, thaarak hounds etc.

acid fog can be good for crowd concealment/slow/damage too
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

Always figure out which ones you cannot buy from a vendor, and take those ones from the trainer when leveling. Buy the other spells recommended above from vendors and inscribe them. Try them out, and keep the ones you like / need loaded. I generally try to have all of the spells in my wizard's spellbook.

http://ddowiki.com/page/scrolls has a list of spells you cannot find at a vendor.

    Default how are these?

Thanks for the advice so far...

    Does mass suggestion work well?

And how about Otiluke's Freezing Sphere?

Mass Suggestion is a good spell, although I'd take the others mentioned above first. I've never used Freezing Sphere though. Acid Fog is currently broken and doesn't appreciably slow creatures down. Of course, it has been that way for over a year, so for all we know, they meant to change it and forgot to tell us about it.

Mass sug is the only really reliable charm spell since you can predict the timer. on a group for 5 mobs, getting 1-2 will usually do the job since they will be busy with eachother.

OFS is ****, use Cone of Cold instead. You have more important things to use your 6th lvl slots on than another sub-par/spdraining dps attack, like reco (if your warforged), disentigrate, Flesh to stone, greater hero, mass sug (for soloing usually).

If your worried about what ice spells to take, as of our current update, you should only have/need Icelance-Cone of cold-Polar ray. Fire would be Scorching ray-firewall-Delayed blast.
Q&A is the business of pointing out others' failures. Optimists need not apply.

Delayed blast fireball isnt necessary for fire damage. Firewall and scorching ray cover that well. The slot used for DB-fireball could be used for mass hold, otto's danceball, finger of death, etc..

    Post spells

Hope you are enjoying your caster, as another said, when you level choose the spells you cannot buy to inscribe such as acid fog (examples for other levels if you do not have themalready would be dimension door, firewall, cloudkill, solid fog, etc...see the link posted above )
Also, if your WF reconstruct is nice but if you have a good conc skill the scrolls work well also most of the time unless you solo and pull a lot of aggro. This of course requires cash (and might i say you can farm a lot of xp from the necro at lvl 11 as well as loot to sell/keep/trade).

As far as what to choose i don't suggest Otto's freezing spere, use COC as both are reflex saves...an overloooked lower lvl spell is frost lance (fortitude save) which can be used on things like mephits and fire ellies which have higher reflex saves than fort saves in general.

Disentigration is very nice especially (almost required) for black bone skellies which are immune to cold and fire(but ball lighting works well here also). Also, some monsters are immune to lvl 4 and below spells.....such as the wiz king, madstone end boss, etc.

Mass sugggestion can be nice but i typically kill things and not charm them in general.

Flesh to stone makes soem quests easier (GH tor) as deathward does not prevent this spell and you can let a melee take em down quickly if stoned. If you come upon a set of bracers or hand help item with both necro and transmutation focus on it , that is a nice additiona to a wizards arsenal. Adds 1 to the DC of both spell types.

Hope this helps, and have fun with your caster. If you on Argo look me up. I have several sorcs/wiz builds.
Cannith! Too many alts to list. Lorrtusk, Lorrtank (my main), Lorrgar, Jimipage, Taurnish, etc.
