Hi ya'll,
I'm a new arrival to the world of DDO, having played the game for a few weeks. The char I've played so far is a lvl 7 drow (planned to be a tempest, currently 5 rngr, 1 rog, 1 ftr). I've mostly been soloing, but I'm starting to find that not all that satisfying anymore. Especially since I have several characters that I want to build that basically require a group to be worth it (Like, say, a cleric :P)..
Anyway, a lil 'bout me:
I'm 31 years old, living in Ireland atm, and I've been playing videogames for 20 years, pen&paper DnD for several years, and MMOs for, gosh, 10 years by now. Been through most of the online games actually, Diablo 2, Counter-Strike, Ultima Online, WoW, AO, PlanetSide, Horizons, Lotro etc, so I feel I'm quite familiar with the basic mechanics of online RPGs.
I'm generally a powergamer in the sense that I like to maximize my character so that the only thing that's stopping me from being godlike is my own personal limitations (of which there are many, most of them related to strange things like "work" and "real life") and not a few poor char design decisions. I do, however, also enjoy to see the sights, especially in this game where every quest basically promises something special unlike the classic "go kill 10 bunnies and bring me some ears" we see in most other MMOs.
Basically, I'd like a guild that takes it's time, likes to go for 100% completion in quests and has the patience to teach inexperienced me the ropes of grouping in DDO, as it does seem quite different from other MMOs in that respect.
The two characters I'm currently playing are Avariana (the tempest) and Falax (planned wf wiz/rogue).
