The one thing missing from Update 7

(ok, 2 things if you count Druids - but I get the feeling those are coming, unlike this...)

So, update 7 has a huge pile of things we've been after for ages. New Races, the compendium bug fixed, dragontouch rune identification, new PRCs, etc, etc, etc... Loads of fantastic stuff, and I can't wait!

But, to my mind, there's one thing that players have been crying out for for years that's constantly been ignored, never even commented on officially.

Bardic Music.

The current implementation, frankly, sucks. I'm not talking about the game balance, the song effects, I'm talking about the music - the game audio.

At the very least we need more variety than the 3-4 tunes we hear over and over and over and over and over and over again. When you've heard the same snippet of music 100 times it starts to get old. When you've heard it 1000 times, it starts to get annoying. When you've heard it 10,000 times you start to 'forget' to cast deathward on the Bard...

Ideally, we need a 'proper' music system, like you have in LOTRO. Give us the ABC system and let bards play music freestyle - who needs the brothers doing their show in the marketplace when a bunch of player bards can give us their own show!

And let us bind ABC files to bard songs, so each bard can customise what their songs sound like. If you can't do this part (making them last the right amount of time could be tricky) then at least let us play freestyle or via ABC files.

What are you talking about? The barb capstone is great! Sure, it might not be as strong as the other capstones, but hey, that would be an augmentation instead of a fixing.

Personally I'd kiss their feet already if they just gave Ironskin Chant a different tune.
I'm not much of a graphics/audio lover, but being able to tell one song from another serves a gameplay purpose.
Also reusing the rage icon for it is nice as a placeholder in alpha testing, but my amazement over how it got released like that is only surpassed by my amazement that it never got fixed.
I love that manager who prioritizes yet another new 3D monster model over fixing a handful of 32x32 pixel icons.

One thing that I *will* say about the current songs - Most Vet players know the sound of a fascinate in the works, and know not to swing at EEEEVERYTHING. That's kinda nice, when it actually works. Of course, I also tend to communicate over party chat stuff like that, such as "Hey, Fascinating."

New tunes would be cool. I wonder how many Turbine Points they'll gouge-... cost us.

for those talking about thf line there is some changes going into that

Barb Capstone fix has been mentioned as in

THF line changes as well. Its just a straight damage increase and Effect Proc increase now.

Damage base for Glancing BLows of 20% +10% per Feat and 3% per Feat for chance at weapon effect Procs

I believe it was 10% damage for Capstone as well and 5% Weapon Procs

OK guys and Gals, I know I kinda caused this with the thread title - in retrospect I should have called it something else, but I'd like this thread to be about Bard Music, if you want to talk about THF, Sorc PrEs, Capstones or whatever, go make your own thread, thanks

And good point to the person who talked about Tavern music - the same applies to Bard Trainer music, too. I bet I'm not the only person who makes a wide loop around bard trainers, cos they are sick of the trainer music

A little off-topic, but I just wanted to chip in to say that I never get tired of the sound breakables make. I agree that the bardic music sounds can be a little repetitive, but despite the small number of options for breakables, they are all satisfying.
