Why do you feel your server is the best to play on?

On a minor derail, if only because this is one of the few threads that has ever tempted me to look at other server forums, I want to be able to write our own description of the Khyber Forums.

I know why they do it the way they do, but dammit, Lammania gets butterflies and kitties, and everyone else gets a prerecorded announcement (I imagine it in the voice of the old time number in the US... At the tone, the time will be 10:43am. BEEEEP).

We should get to create/nominate, and then vote on, the best description of our server, which then would be used under the description of Khyber.

I started out on Fernia, played had fun then had to give it a break for years. I saw that is game went F2P and came back and found myself on Ghallanda, ( I guess that is where I was thrown into ? ), and being who I am just couldnt except a choice being made for me, so I tried a couple of servers and found Khyber. The fact that as a returning played that had no idea that Korthos was even in the game was not made to feel , how shall I put it, Brain-dead sounds about right. Also the fact that PUGs are the rage on Khyber, with all the ups and downs that come with them.

Khyber Pass - that was the only name that had any meaning to me, and it was not first on the list.

Seriously, that is why I picked Khyber 4 1/2 (and counting) years ago...

Now, why I stay? Because I met a lot of great people (many of which I am still Guilded/run quests daily with), established myself here - and do NOT want to start over with nothing/knowing no one again , and really enjoy playing on Khyber.

As far as the server merges, hard to imagine now, but a couple of years ago the player base started to dry up. So, Turbine decides to merge servers, and two others got merged in with Khyber. Could as easily been Khyber merged with one of them, and same net effect (well, except all of the old Khyber players would be all "Remember Khyber! Where we had the biggest POS server of all - and we liked it!"). That being more players to quest with, new friends to meet, etc...

Anyway, good luck with your search, hope you find a place where you can meet cool people, and have fun playing DDO as I still do.

I posted this question on every server. I have been playing on Cannith mostly but in the last few days I looked at numbers. Mostly the amount of post per server thread. Cannith is the second lowest post count and I am having a hard time finding people to play with. If I ask questions from people to know information about each server. I can better understand not only the game but the people that play in the game. Witch server may be the best fit for me. Then when I am better informed. It will be easier for me to pull in my friend that play other games at this point. People that I used to play paper and dice D&D but they all live in other states or countries. As you can see from my signature I am part of a guild but their numbers are low. If it is because they chose to be on a server that has a smaller amount of people on it maybe I can suggest that they start a guild in another server as well. The question as others have observed is multilayered. Not only will I get opinions of people that think their server is the best but I will also get people that will be rude or nice or some where in between. I can then gauge what sort of people play on each server.

I hope this answers any ones questions on why I "spamed" each server thread.

I am wondering why people chose and play on this server? What makes this server the best for people to start on? I am a newb. I am wondering if this server would be better for me to play on?

To the OP... In Eberron lore "Khyber" - the Dragon Below - the mother of monsters, source of all darkness, fear and pain - forever struggling to once more break free and bring an end to all creation so that she may begin the process anew - and alone... comprises the underdark of the world.

I suppose like her, I was exiled here from Reidra, bloody still cannot figure as to why?
