Since you are in a guild on Cannith, I would stick with that.

edit to add - Oh wow, you posted this in every servers forum. You should prolly just create a character on each and try them all.

I did not come to Khyber by choice.
I was forced here.
Now Emili keeps me chained up and wont let me leave.

Please dont ask me for SS, because I do like the forums and I think Tarrant and Tolero are fabulous individuals.

Khyber is the hardball server, all other servers are the kiddie-league.

I have Characters on all other servers, and this is my observation.

Originally I played on Riedra and met many wonderful people during that time. Alas Riedra has since merged and become Khyber. I've played both here and on Argonesson. I like both for different reasons. I think Argo has a bit more patience, or at least it used to haven't been there in a while but Khyber has a solid set of quality players (and drama to keep me entertained).

I honestly haven't been a new player for a LONG time and I also haven't pugged too much in a very long time so my opinion is not going to mean a whole lot here. However, I think any server you choose will be a good choice as a new player or a bad choice. It really depends on who you meet and there are good and bad people everywhere. Just ignore the ***hats and keep looking for the great people who you enjoy playing with.

Someone said maybe you should roll on each server to give it a try. That's not a bad idea.

I started as f2p and lvled some characters across the servers.

Since i've only had 2 character slots at each server it was necessary to move between servers to try out different classes/races.


It was on Khyber where i've finally been invited into an awsome guild after a few good runs, so i stayed there,
upgraded to VIP for one month and have been premium since then.


Since then i've met many awsome players ingame, so i don't regret my decision to stay.

Why you ask?

Well, first of all - I didn't choose Khyber.
Riedran's and Khyberian's were forced to play nice with one another.

Turns out a lot of Riedran's and Khyberian's are alike.
Now, why did I choose to stay on Khyber???

Khyber is just plain ****ing awesome;
we've got everything from a **** ton of friends
to our daily dose of drama!

If you can't handle the heat, GTFO, NOW!

This is a long answer, but here goes...

I had some issues like you seem to be having OP when I started out. I came to the game without any of my RL friends and really just wanted to play some D&D style game with fun people. I had a rough go at first because I had some rotten luck in pugs on some servers, other were ghost towns for me as well. I leveled up characters on 2 or 3 servers and was about to leave because I just always felt "left out".

I had about 2 weeks left on my sub at the time, so I thought I'd give it one more try on a different server that I had not tried yet. I searched around on the forums to see which server seemed the most active at my times. Khyber has far and away the most posts in the forums and was considered by many to be one of the 2 or 3 really busy servers at the time (summer 06). I rolled up 2 characters there, and found a group that I tended to run with alot. Before I knew it, I was at the level cap, had re-upped my sub, and was meeting more players on the seerver. Somehow I had garned a positive reputation here to a small degree, and was floored that people wanted me in their groups. Now fast forward several years, and I'm still playing with a few of the folks I met waaaaay back then. They have since wised up and now more or less tolerate my presence rather than seek it out, but that is another topic altogether...

My point is to just play around on the servers until you find one that works best for you. They are all full of fun people, and each have their own different flavor for certain. I came to really like playing with the friends I made here, so I stuck around. The trick is just finding what you like and then sticking around as much as possible to enjoy it.

What makes this server the best for people to start on?

That is a bit of a tougher question. I've been here a long time, so I can tell you why people start here. There are a lot of pugs up here all the time. If you need help, the folks here will actually try to do just that most of the time. And if you can keep up or atleast let others know that you are new and trying to learn the game to a degree, most of us will be happy to give you some tips and pointers. There is a very established core of players here, and that is a good and bad thing for a new player. We vets can get a bit snotty at times with new players that try and shout us down, and we generally have played much of the content here many many many times at this point, so we move through it at a much faster pace than others. There are some great guilds here for new players too, but if you are looking for handouts or invites to some of the more "elite" guilds you will find Khyber very unwelcoming. We circle the wagons here very fast, and anyone that really goes out of their way to act the idiot is roundly ignored and exiled (usually to Thelanis. HA!).

Well you already did the 1st thing right as far as most of us here are concerned. You announced that you are new. That right there allows the folks on Khyber to retract our claws some. So some quick tips about playing here, and I'll wrap up this version of War & Peace". If you can read, ask questions, take advice from people that have done it before, and laugh at yourself this is a great place to start playing. If you can't do ALL of those things, you are absolutely in wrong place to play this game. We try not to get all freakishly "I'm leet and ur not" too often, we play fast and hard most of the time, we try to help people enjoy the game as much as they can, and we definitely bring the drama to the game as a whole as often as possible (just read some of our forums) So I will ultimately answer your question with one of my own. Does Khyber sound like the place that YOU would like to play? Any server has the same loot, the same quests, the same characters and classes, but not the same community. You tell us.
