    Default Sorcerer gear

    Hey guys,

Im still pretty new to DDO and am thoroughly enjoying playing my level 8 sorcerer. I did wonder if anyone can point me towards a list of gear I should look to pick up as I work my way through the levels so eventually I will be raid ready when the time comes. I figure if I'm running through a lot of quests anyway I might as well pick up as much stuff as I can that will save me time later.

    Thanks

Here are some basics. There are a lot of equipment threads on the Sorc forums, but they usually look towards end game, and if I am reading your post correctly, you are asking for what gear to get to be able to start raiding...

Here is the Definitive Static Loot List - lookup all named items here: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=249178

Helm: Minos Legens You can get this as early as lvl 11. Will give 20hp and heavy fort (so that creatures cannot crit you)

Necklace: Golden Cartouche - from Delaras. Will give you +3 UMD (so that you can use wands to heal with as cure serious pots are expensive)

Trinket: Pearl of Power X (10). This will give you 200sp extra. Swap this with Voice of the Master from Delaras for the +5% bonus experience.

    Cloak: Charisma +6

Belt: Constitution +6 (or belt of Greater False Life)

Ring 1: Ring of Greater False Life or Constitution +6

    Ring 2:

    Gloves:

Boots: Feather Falling boots (switch with striding for when you aren't hasted)

    Bracers: Strength +6

    Goggles:

Armor: Very open. You will eventually want Robe of Fire from the Inspired Quarter quests, or Sorjek robe/outfit from Reaver's Refuge.

    Weapon 1: Greater Potency 7

Weapons 2: Major Fire Lore weapon when doing fire damage and switch to Major Ice Lore weapon when doing cold damage.

Basically you are wanting to ensure that you have the following equiped all the time (where won't matter - whatever fits):

    Charisma +6 item
    Constitution +6 item
    Strength +6 item
    Greater False Life item
Heavy Fort item (Minos Legens is the best for this as you get the 20hp as well)
Some type of Power or Wizardry item to boost spell points
Best potency item you can get - cheapest on clubs and scepters
Lore item to help with crit damage for your spells

Other than this basic list, it is always good to have (if you can fit them in):
Dex +6 (will give +3 to reflex saves)
    Int +6 (can help sometimes)
Wis +6 (will give a +3 to will saves)
    Striding
    Feather Fall
    Underwater Action
    Resistance
    Disease Immunity
    Proof Against Poison

This will get you started. There will be named items as you go that will make sense to acquire, but won't be what you want in the end.

    Thanks!
«Castielle» (Sorc) ??* Embyrr (Sorc) ??* «Serreniti» (Wiz) ??* Knuttz (Sorc) ??* Castiel (Wiz) ??* Sakarra (Bard) ??* Sakara (Bard) ??* Callistto (Bard)
??* Chaaos (FvS) ??* Serrenity (Cleric) ??* Vorpel (Batman) ??* Sylverr (Exploiter) ??* Phoenyx (Exploiter) ??* Phoenyxx (Pal) ??* Trainquill (Monk)

Absolutely yes, and unlike in PnP can cast while doing so.

Sorcs can hold 2 weapons at time for the purpose of gaining those attributes from both weapons....you'll have all the negative to hit aspects, but then again, you weren't planning on hitting things with those scepters right

Except for some raid drops, yes, staves are much less useful than dual wielding two one-handed weapons.
