I understand your reasoning, but the potential exists for griefing.
    Gotta be a better solution.

I would be happy with just a better way of targetting the mobs to dismiss your own charm. As it stands it's a hassle.

Make charmed mobs labelled as non combatants so they can be targetted with backspace and enlarge the range of dismiss charm.

Is there any extra special way of saying "no"?

That's all enchanters would need; take away their extra DoT because someone doesn't like the pink hats. In the end, I hear ya, I see your point, but in the end, mobs can save from charm.

Then again, few people seem to find the benefits of charms.

How about every class being able to dismiss their own charm, instead of just the Arcane classes?

What about friendly fire on charmed monsters instead?

I don't care on whoms side it's fighting, it's a monster in a D&D dungeon and therefore has to die! :P

Just wait until there's a BUNCH of stuff charmed, and then when the other caster gets in there throw a Break Enchantment.

My only problem with dismiss charm is how close you have to be. I can charm a monster from 20 ft away, but I have to be within 2 ft to dismiss the charm? No deal!

Before suggesting this, I hope you didn't spend more than 0 seconds thinking about what bad could come of this in order to decide if the suggestion actually has merit.

Haven't read all posts. Maybe someone already mentioned it.

Actually it's already possible to dismiss other's charms. It's called dispell magic (in all its variants). You will 'only' have to beat the spell's DC. The spell's DC is determined by the former caster's intelligence modifier, caster level and spell level/grade (heighten spell can increase that) and maybe some other variables I'm not aware of. So it won't work all the time and in some cases you'd have to try several times.

If you don't want to waste SP on this you might want to keep a wand of dispel magic. Preferably one with a high caster level. So far I mostly found such wands with caster level 5 or 10.

I'd settle for being able to ~ through charmed/pets with a longer range on dismiss, mself. Kinda like tab and q as far as utility and keyboard location.
