I wondered, what monsters would I just love to see in DDO?

Thri-Kreen

Lycanthropes would pretty much require us going to Lammania... which could be possible, given it's connection into the storyline.

Thri-kreen are a must-have, being native to Xen'drik and part of Stormreach society; they could even be a playable race, although that's harder to balance.

Daelkyr and Dolgaunts(I take a risk with this one, having not done the IQ or much of Amrath yet and they may be there)

The only reference to the Daelkyr at all is the quest Let Sleeping Dust Lie, in which some Raksasha believe they have found the location of one of the Lords of Dust. IQ is the Inspired/Quori, and Amrath is Shavarath, so Devils and Demons (and perhaps Archons, one day).


I'd like to see more "classic" monsters, such as the Manticore, Hydra, Harpy, Displacer Beast, Centaur, etc.

Thri-kreen would be cool, they even reference them with the sentinel's bracers.
Sladdi would be cool, but I think a quest with Gith in the Astral Plane would be cooler.

Zaartan! The big turtle islands?! How cool would it be to put an epic quest on one of those out in 3bc?

I thought about that too, but it definitely could not be the AD&D Tarrasque, as you would need the wish spell IIRC. Maybe implemented as an instance only scroll? Hmmmm.....

Thought that too. Book Tarrasque hardly compares to a basic Raid Boss in DDO.
Would be an Epic, Epic Raid Boss.

I really think a Slaad boss would be awesome...you beat it in one form...and then it turns into another stronger form. And depending on Difficulty, that woudl decide the alst form.

I want to see more, and varied Living Spells. I've gotten into the habit of "playing with" (read: slaughtering for fun) the living spells in SubT while waiting for HoX/VoD groups to fill. They amuse me.

Owlbears would be cool. If we can turn them into suboptimal hide armor, we should certainly be able to kill them.

I've known some of these. Of course, I knew them as my little sister and her friends. Annoying, yes. Frightening, no.

Mediocre Jellies. They never attack, merely follow along wherever you go, and radiate crushing despair. They also can be heard to be faintly humming some sort of very depressing song, interspersed with depressed whining, and occasional sobs. Known for following too closely and accidentally splashing all over people when they stop quick, causing their hair to look like Robert Pattinson's. Useful for getting entire tribes of kobolds to commit suicide by simply laying down and never doing anything again, saving people the trouble of fighting them, but other races with stronger minds merely become morose and write bad poetry centering on the meaninglessness of life.
