Default The price is right! (or is it)

There seems to be a difference between the servers (and Euro vs US) when it comes to general pricing for everyday items. And in all honesty, some of the AH prices are just laughable.

So without further ado, tell me what you actually would pay for:

    GS raw material
    Small ingredient
    Medium ingredient
    Large ingredient
    White scale
    Blue scale
    Black scale
    Red scale

Only reason Im asking is bacause I saw 1 x chipmunk funk for 250k plat at the AH yesterday. I mean, seriously, do people pay that for being lazy?

Unfortunately some really do which leads the seller to tell others and the price goes left again :-(

Large scales go for 350k-400kpp each, large stones around 200kpp each. White and black scales are about 40kpp each. Blue scales are about 70-80k.

If you want to follow Alvin, Simon or Theodore around with a little plastic baggie and get some "Funk" be my guest.

Also I would never pay for ingredients.

Well, honestly the market on Ghallanda is a joke and although I do use it frequently I only buy things that are reasonably priced. I often search it everyday for deals. I see that 95% of the stuff is so over priced it is just ridiculous though. If anyone ever played Final Fantasy Online it reminds me of that or maybe not that bad yet, but it is getting to that point. In all honesty I love this game and I want it to last and people should think what a bad economy can do to a game. In my opinion it can eventually help lead to its demise. This is just an example, but I would rather give that +2 item to someone and then see them continue to play the game and not put it on the AH for 100k plat when in reality it should be 1-5k maybe. I have personally more than a few times set an item on these forums for an over priced amount, but I admit that it was in ignorance and not just because of greed, but normally someone will send you a tell or something about it and you can work out a fair deal.

I recommend to anyone to use this forum and NOT the AH to do a lot of serious trading, the people here are normally very fair and set prices that are very reasonable.

I use the AH all the times for sales. I've found that setting the price to 20% of the listed value of the item and the buyout to the listed value usually moves the stuff and it's slightly more than I'd get from selling to the vendors and pawn brokers, in most cases. However, as you noted, it's nasty for some of those items.

GS raw material: A few thousand pp if anything, just go farm them, I've always got characters looking for xp and stones anyway.
Small ingredient: Nothing, I always have tons of these well before I'm ready to craft my tier 3
    Medium ingredient: See above
Large ingredient: 150k for a stone, 300k for a scale, trade 2 stones for a scale, wouldn't buy the others

I don't ever plan to make dragon scale armor, so no idea on those.

Red Dragon Scale: 1 Large Scale and 1 Large Stone

Large Scale: 450kpp - Large Stones 2 for 1 Large Scale
Large Stone: 3 Large Arrowheads/chains for 1 Large stone
Any other Large: 6 for 1 stone

Small Scale: 6-8 for 1 Large stone
Any other smalls: 10-12 for 1 Large Stone

    Mediums: 5kpp per any

GS Raws: Twigs/Funk - maybe 20kpp max, all others 5kpp each

    W/B/Bl Dragon Scales - 25kpp/25kpp/50-75kpp

Ultimately its hard to gauge prices on any of the servers since for some reason the game population never really wanted to come together and try to come up with standardized prices based on trades received.

I feel pathetic playing this game and trying to trade something when I can go back and look at Diablo 2 and see that after 8.5 years they still use the same trading scales and lists with conversions in terms of P.gems and High Runes and we can't even agree on the price of a friggin' vorpal!

Shall we start a discussion now (Will gladly create a thread) or continue to wallow around in darkness hoping that we can come together at some point?

Turbine, you can hire more developers for the game. We operate on a giant Theocracy of Debt, so go all out finding developers for the best MMO out there

A tip: While people here have listed very low prices for twigs/funk (and, indeed, I too would sooner farm it than buy it), you can easily -sell- gs blanks or twigs/funk for much more: listing those two base ing for 90k plat -will- sell, and a fully made blank can sell for more than a large scale fairly easily.

A lot of people are much too lazy to farm that stuff themselves and will pay a lot to save the time.

I am not one of them, but it's why the AH prices for that stuff are so high: they -do- sell.

I'm not sure it's laziness as much as just not having the time to do the grind. I have a limited amount of time playing, and when I do, I would rather do quests that I enjoy playing rather than just farming the Vale. I have, and will again, traded large scales for Green Steel blanks. I would rather run the Shroud and collect the ingredients there than do Coalescence Chamber more than once per toon.
Too many toons to list, but the mains are Achewon, Westudi, and Shonufff.
