So, you deny a person a lesser restore specifically because he asked nicely for one, then decide you are in the right because he then became belligerent? Obviously you were in the right!

Oh, and who ever said you would have to BUY a lesser restore wand? I haven't had a character reach level 10 that hasn't pulled at least one from a chest...and if I can't use it, I hand it to the cleric/FvS. You're trying to tell me that you have NEVER on that toon pulled or been handed a lesser restore wand, OR, that you automatically sell them so that when you get into groups with someone who doesn't have lesser restore pots, you can post a QQ thread on the forums?

Cool...sounds like a great new way to play the game! Guess one day when I'm bored with actually helping ALL of the people in my groups, I'll have to try it.

...wow...that felt good...haven't really flexed that sarcasm bone in a long time!

Stop being a miser and buy some pots.

Aye, but some people forget/don't know/don't have the plat. If I'm in a quest with someone like that, I always help them out, and possibly throw them some plat to buy them afterwards. Only time I might get bent is if I DO give them some plat for pots, then I group with them after and they say they "forgot" to buy them, but don't I love their new rapier???

THAT would get my ire...not someone asking for help.

If it were that sort of player, one that normally carries supplies but ran out/forgot/whatever, then the first thing said would have been "Cr*p! I'm out of XXX pots. Can you help me out?" instead of the equivalent of hjeal me!

All my characters always carries stacks of Cure Serious, Lesser Restore (good for other things too), Haste and Remove Curse. Seriously, if a person is going to run higher level content (15+) they should have those pots. Being an a$$ hat demanding a heal and wasting SP for exhaustion is effin ********. Now if you have neg levels stat damage and exhaustion, thats different. I am not even sure if healer classes at that level even have lesser restore memed anymore.

personally this person I would have made them run the rest of the quest without any healing support, at the very least make them suck up the exhaustion for being a rude tard.

I agree. In general people should carry minimal pots to cover their own lesser restores, curses, some healing pots, etc. I think it really just gets annoying when people expect that you are there to keep them alive or give them buffs no matter how they have built their toon or play the game.

Ahh, but he didn't say hjeal me, he said: (according to the OP)

Now, alot of people are jumping down the guy's throat, but if I were to read that in party chat, that sounds like someone who believes a full heal is necessary to take care of fatigue, so without jumping to overly negative conclusions, I would have asked him if he had any lesser restore pots, with the explanation that they will get rid of fatigue without using a ton of the cleric's SP. Instead, it sounds to me that the OP incited the drama by simply replying "no" without any explanation, and did not offer one until he had the guy good and riled up. The OP also could have used one of his own LR pots or a wand to help, but instead chose to create an issue out of nothing. So, to that, I say Bad Form.

If the guy had gotten nasty after offering the advice/pot, THEN it would be worthy of a thread...instead, I think the OP just embarrassed himself...

Didn't seem like the guy was rude when asking for the heal. I totaly agree that everyone should carry pots, but everyone should also try to be as helpful to the group in their role. If he was saving for an axe by not buying pots, he obviously had to chose and personaly i would help him out for two reasons.
    - My cleric is a healbot - by choice and RP - and does everything he can do help others.
    - It's not that hard to pass him some pots if he doesn't have. You know, sharing.
You don't need to be a healbot to do those things, it's a matter of attitude

I understand it was a general statement, but my point was that if you join a group you should contribute to it, otherwise why even join it?

Even people that are generaly very self sufficient need help every now and then, and when they need help they might see things differently and help others that actually need.

This isn't an absolute truth, it's just my personal view anyway.

Remove Curse pots? yes ... Cure Serious Wounds pots? yes ... Remove Disease pots? Situational if you don't have an item with it. Haste Pots? I have them on my Ranger. Lesser Restore? How often does someone really get fatigued in a quest? If you're a barb, I'd say yes. If you're anything else, then no. I have a bard, a FvS, a Ranger, and a wizard. I don't carry lesser restore on any of them, and I get fatigued maybe once or twice a week. If I'm alone, I just run to a shrine. If I'm with a group, I'd either go back to a shrine, or dump the rest of my sp on buffs and stay in the back of the party until we reach a shrine if there were a cleric/FvS who had the ability to but flat out refused to heal. I would have let the above conversation end at "no".

So what do you do about ability damage?
Carry lesser resto pots, that's what.

My bard and FvS have heal scrolls. My ranger waits it out, and my wizard kills thing to quick to get stat damage. Stat damage goes away without having to shrine.

    remember:

    When someone says:

    Player Z: healplz

    Player Z: healplz

    Player Z: healplz!!!!!!

in the span of a few seconds after he runs into a room, gets all the aggro, then starts kiting them around, and not drinking pots, hes a new player (not necessarily bad, just real new to ddo)

    But.......

Healer stated at beginning of quest; been in here twice before, dont know the quest, and player Z still does this, repeats this same process several times through the same adventure, (me watching closely now) NEVER drinks a single pot, but always asking for healzplz, is a bad player.

BTW, this happened in my Tear of Dhakaan run last night.

A little courtousy goes a LONG way.

No drama threads can become drama threads. Just need enough people screaming "This thread sucks!"

Pretty funny for a caster to get fatigued so much. It is an outstanding issue for a melee.

I don't think my caster gets fatigued/exhausted too often- does lich form take that away?

I keep a few lesser restore pots for stat damage, and not silly fatigue-I'll just haste to stay at normal speed.

Does harm have the same restorative effect when your in lich form?

Personally from experience, when I was newish for a few months, there was no advice given for caring pots. I collected resist pots for non-casters, and maybe a few cure pots. Being a new player is about hording what little plat you can grab/earn, so being cheap is associated with it. But yeah being super-needy or needing a babysitter means that player is pretty unreliable.

    Rofl- that player is win
Then again its how you want to play- if you want to hang back a little and see what other people can do, then that player would be more noticeable.

If your zerging the quest, then that player might fall behind, and never get the chance to show off the l337 skills of mana-sponging.

    A little off topic but,

I strive on resist energy. My bard is the only one who can't cast it, and I carry around wands of resist energy (lvl 11) just incase there's someone in the party who's not passing it out.

One of the few reasons I'm dreading making a melee only character is because I will have to depend on other people for buffs in PUGS. My opinion on various other potions may change after I make a melee only. With low level quests, a resist fire makes a huge difference against kobold throwers, but how much difference will a resist 10 with a 3 minute duration make in high level content?

    Back on topic,
Also, from how I read the Op, the caster was fatigued once.

There are resist 20 pots in the twelve and resist 30 pots drop in higher level quests.

For the low levels, acid and fire resist are the most common. Higher difficulty of those quests would probably need electric resist.

Usually at the higher levels, and if someone is knowledgeable with a quest, you will get your 30 resist. Ship buffs work pretty well for an hour at a time.

If your melee doesnt have UMD, then 20 resist pots work pretty well, you can get those from the Twelve potion vendor.

Or if you don't want to worry about it at all, have absorption or 30 resist items. Like Ring of the Djinn/Firestorm Greaves/GS items- or simple 30 resist fire/ice/electric/acid items.

Actually I did buy some pots when my first toon reached like level 12. Invaders taught me that beholders make pots alot more useful- resist ones, since the beholders dispell acid resist, and you get to keep dog breathe.
