    Default Khyber Drama Thread #608

I call together the board of trustees today in order that we keep the monopoly of the peace and bring to light a certain person that has earned a special place on the naughty list.

    Summary of the offense:
Nastiness for not receiving a heal every time he was fatigued while running Inferno of the Damned.

    Quick highlight:
    x: Can I get a heal, I'm fatigued.
    me: No
    x: You really are being a !@#$%
me: If you had lesser restoration pots, you wouldn't be having this problem, try asking if anyone can spot you.
x: Well I guess I shouldn't cast any more spells for the group either.

    Rest of the quest:
x: Blah blah blah QQ blah blah blah

And with that, I adjourn the meeting, feel free to make discreet inquiries if you so desire.

I had a similar guy last week.
I told him to drink a pot.
He told me that he didn't have any because he was saving his money for a new axe.

Well then, I'm saving my mana for things that I think will help ME instead of things that will help you.... see how that works?

    lol

so what, this arcane is like level 15 and hasn't got around to buying a stack of lesser restoration pots?

i cast lesser restore pots from pots off my cleric. i think if i had been there as the cleric i would have walked over to him and handed him a stack of 10 pots with a pointed comment about how you can buy them from the marketplace.

so did this person have curse pots? please tell me they did?

Don't you know already? the lazy ppl rely on the clerics for their lack of common sense to buy their own pots because well.... "we have a cleric they can do it for us"

precisely the point. his decision to react poorly to my advice lead to battle cleric

the fact that i could have solved it easily is beside the point. unfortunately there was someone kind enough to keep him out of my pocket.

and lazy clerics don't do their job sometimes... like not carrying lesser restore wands if they are worried about spell points.

you caught me, im a lazy healer. i didnt have the ability to take care of the problem. i didnt chose not to because of how he acted. i should have focused on him instead of getting 5 other people through a quest. and more to the point, i dont go through hundreds of thousands of plat to help other people get what they want to enjoy the game more. /sarcasm off

The worst thing is, you link Potion of Lesser Restoration in the chat window, and they just get ticked at you!! Like you're trying to show them up! When all you are trying to do is help...

It wouldn't have happened in Mod8, I'm tellin you. They would have said, "oh didn't know that, ty". I'm startin to sound like beerman/disavowed.

So you can't carry a lesser restore wand? Not that I don't agree that people should carry pots, but I remember when someone told me they always have stacks of 100 cure serious and 100 haste pots all the time, I thought that was insane, how could any one afford that. Well, now that is exactly what I do without a thought. If someone's ability to buy pots is hindering their ability to buy something off the AH they must not have that much plat. wands are cheap comparitively. It doesn't always have to be about teaching people the hard lesson. T

or said person could buy the cleric/fvs/ umd rogue in the party a wand of lesser restore to take care of him
because he's too cheap to carry pots.

On my cleric I always ensure that I go into a raid with at least 200 heal scrolls, 100 lesser restoration scrolls, 50 restoration scrolls and roughly 50 mass restoration scrolls. Anything less than that is considered sub-pare by my own standards. Running quests, and in particular a chain of quests, is another matter....Not to disrespect anyone, but sometimes people need to look towards efficiency when playing a healer for a group.... And sometimes its just THAT much more efficient to lead from the front, teaching both tanks and arcanes that the cleric really IS someone to respect, and to fear.

Once, fine... twice well err ok, three times? Take a nap. Although I do agree with Lo_Pan that my characters are prepared to alliviate everything they may for some other player ... I can understand how such can become old when you have someone constantly needing assistance on every step through.

I would have done the same thing IF i was asked like sephiroth1084 described. If you are in a group, what's wrong about helping other people out? The guy wasn't even rude when asking for a lesser restoration. And his justification (unless he was lying) was ok IMO, he was low on funds. Personaly i'd gladly even give him some pots considering i don't need the plat for anything at all...

If you don't want to help the group, don't join one - that's how i see it.

    It's like healing.
"oh boy, he got damaged again for the 23489273th time in this quest.. let him buy pots"
Except it's a different button if you use lesser restoration.

    But that's just me.

There's a big difference between (a) throwing someone a Heal for 200hp vs telling them to drink pots for 23hp and (b) wasting mana *repeatedly* on something that comes in pot form with the same exact effect. Pots don't heal nearly as well as mana does, but pots cure ailments the exact same way that mana does. You can't compare the two, so your example holds no merit.
Stop being a miser and buy some pots.

As Emili said, and I agree with her, once: fine, twice: ***?, three times: sorry dude.

That was a general statement toward people who would think that way, not necessarily directed at you.

So if that wasn't the point, I must have missed it. What was the point then?

Didn't seem like the guy was rude when asking for the heal. I totaly agree that everyone should carry pots, but everyone should also try to be as helpful to the group in their role. If he was saving for an axe by not buying pots, he obviously had to chose and personaly i would help him out for two reasons.
    - My cleric is a healbot - by choice and RP - and does everything he can do help others.
    - It's not that hard to pass him some pots if he doesn't have. You know, sharing.
You don't need to be a healbot to do those things, it's a matter of attitude

I understand it was a general statement, but my point was that if you join a group you should contribute to it, otherwise why even join it?

Even people that are generaly very self sufficient need help every now and then, and when they need help they might see things differently and help others that actually need.

This isn't an absolute truth, it's just my personal view anyway.

All my characters always carries stacks of Cure Serious, Lesser Restore (good for other things too), Haste and Remove Curse. Seriously, if a person is going to run higher level content (15+) they should have those pots. Being an a$$ hat demanding a heal and wasting SP for exhaustion is effin ********. Now if you have neg levels stat damage and exhaustion, thats different. I am not even sure if healer classes at that level even have lesser restore memed anymore.

personally this person I would have made them run the rest of the quest without any healing support, at the very least make them suck up the exhaustion for being a rude tard.
