    Default weapon size & halfling

couldn't find anything on this subject, but would a halfling use a Longsword in DDO?

I assume 2 handed, but I can not find anything stating such.

There are no equipment-related size restrictions in DDO. A Halfling will use a longsword the same way everyone else does.

I had to reply to this again after thinking about it seriously.

So what your telling me that a race of being that are about 3 ft and 40 lbs soaking wet, can wield a weapon that is easily twice as long as he/she is tall?

    Something doesn't seem right.

this is why I personally wont play a halfling. Technically a halfling should not be able to wield a greataxe, greatsword, great club, maul, falchion, long bow, heavy, heavy repeater or great crossbow. The only thing they should be able to wield 1 handed are a club, short sword, dagger, hand axe, light mace, light hammer, kukri, sickle and throwing weapons. Everything else would be 2 handed for them. Now I understand it would take alot of extra programming to limit halflings weapons, so I don't blame people for taking advantage of this, I just personally wont do it.

Halflings have greatswords, lances, great axes, falchions, longswords etc in pen and paper as well - however, in P&P, they do less damage as they are of a smaller size category. If you take note, a halfling's weapons will be scaled to look quite a bit smaller than the same weapon type wielded by a WF or, coming up, a Half-Orc, but to make Halflings not useless in the inflated HP action combat that DDO has, most weapons are treated as being of Medium size for their damage die (with exceptions such as greensteel, twinblade, epic antique great axe and what have you).

But you have no trouble with people flying, shooting fire out of their fingertips and weapons that are on fire even when swimming underwater? Joking

I also get a chuckle when standing next to a Halfing at the AH and notice their club is bigger then them. Reminds me of Bam Bam from the Flinstones.

Personally, I specifically rolled a halfling just to tank (naked) and run around with a massive 2-hander.

There's nothing more hilarious than a tiny halfling intimidating a bunch of mobs and swinging a gigantic axe twice their size :P

Besides if anyone asks about being realistic, all I can say is, "a wizard did it!".
