Is it worth buying the Necropolis 2 Adventure Pack for the Devout Handwraps end reward?
I guess I could ask a guildmate if they'd be kind enough to buy a Guest Pass for me, but I'd feel bad about doing that, so I don't want to.

In case you didn't already notice, my posts that end with must NEVER EVER, under any circumstances, be taken seriously.

I've run Shadow Crypt maybe a hundred times and seen 2 sets drop.
Maybe two months of grindnig ;-)
Sometimes the RNG is not on your side...
It took me about 6 runs with a full party before they dropped. Getting a FULL party is important so they can loot for you and pass the handwraps to you.
If you plan to do any end-game raiding, you will need silver AND good properties on your weapon to bypass most raid boss DR. Without it, you will likely hit for 0 damage often and have slower ki generation. If you don't plan on buying Vale of Twilight or other end-game content packs, don't bother trying to get a metalline of pure good handwrap.
They're not an end reward. They only drop from an optional chest at the end of the shadow crypt. They have a ridiculously low drop rate for something that is pretty much required for monks to be successful against raid bosses. I got lucky and pulled mine in 6 tries, another member of my guild had to do 123 runs to pull hers.
If you're serious about going all the way with your monk, you'll need the wraps. Be prepared to run this alot, alot more than what one guest pass will allow. I'd say buy the pack. At the very least you'll have 5 more quests to earn favor and XP from.
That depends on your playstyle.
Some of these maps are really really long...
However Necro 2 has the best XP/minute quest in the game.

Isn't it more reliable to just farm Tower of Despair for ANY ring (there are "best" rings for monks of course, but any will do for the meantime) and then CRAFT holy burst into it? Just requires medium ingredients, not that hard to farm either.
That way you only need generic metalline handwraps to bypass boss DR. And there are LOTS of those in the AH.
And no you don't need Devout to beat ToD when its on normal. You only start doing zeroes (if w/o devout) on Elite.
It's definanately worth it to buy this content. The content is fun and worth a ton of xp. I always run this series during level up just for the xp. As far as wraps go, I've pulled a couple of sets, both in less than 10 tries each. Pulled my son's set on my second try and pulled my set on my sixth try. Not much of a grind if you're also leveling up while trying to get these.

Bypassing damage reduction results in more average damage per attack than a GEOB (or metalline + GEOB, because it doesn't bypass DR) weapon, assuming you have the necessary attack bonus to hit on a roll of 2. GEOB adds 4 damage and 3d6 damage, for an average of 14.5 damage. The lowest boss DR is 15 on normal for Suulomades (Vision of Destruction) and Arraetrikos (Shroud).
Holy + GEOB would give you 1d6 extra damage over silver + pure good, but then we're talking about a very specific randomly generated item. Expect any desired ROG item to cost hundreds of thousands - if not millions - of platinum.
Bottom line: If you plan to do end-game content, Devout Handwraps are the easiest weapons to acquire for doing damage to bosses. Do whatever it takes to get them or expect to be declined for some raids for not having a DR breaker.
I would say the wraps aren't worth the pack.
However if you ever want to cap a character FAST (Especially a TR2+ character), you will want necropolis 2. Shadowcrypt alone can get you 200k+ exp in 2 hours (Ideally with 2 firewallers that split up). Shadowknight requires a more specific party makeup (2rogue skills + 2 firewallers), but can also net you 150k exp in about 2 hours. Every time I TR, I hit each of those a dozen times or more.
