    Exclamation Refund of points?

There seems to be issue with checkout total and billed total being different.

    Code:
xxxxxxxxxxxx, we just added the items/services you ordered to your account!
An email has been sent to the address on your account confirming this transaction as well.
Here are the details of your transaction.
    Account Name:	xxxxxxxxxxx
    Order Number:	001-000070-xxxxxxxxx
    Receipt Date:	9/3/10 7:40 PM
    Order Total:	675 Points
    Summary of Items Purchased:
    	ITEM	PRICE	QUANTITY	TOTAL
Phiarlan Carnival Adventure Pack	337 Points	1	337 Points
The Red Fens Adventure Pack	337 Points	1	337 Points
Total charge for this purchase	675 Points
As you can see 337+337 != 675 Points.

What level of recourse do I have? This seems to be a consistent behaviour, with advertised price being different to actual in game final invoice price.

There needs to be less disparity between rounded advertised price and billed price, if there is no legal obligation there should be a moral or duty of care to your customer.

    Angry

Another great way to start the weekend is seeing there is now a 25% off all adventures weekend sale when I bought 3200 points worth of adventures on thurs.

Thats likely a rounding issue due to sales. Are you really getting so upset about a single point?

The thousands of points that were rounded away over the weekend is a massive windfall for Turbine. People make an issue over 0.1% drop in game speed, but laugh at the real world value of 1 point by thousands.

Advertised price should always equal invoice price.

You're kidding, right? You haven't been cheated, not even by a single point. The full details of your purchase (337.5 points each pack) were not present on the line itemization, but were reflected in your total.

You are not entitled to any recourse, and frankly I believe your OP is just trolling. Had you purchased one pack at a time, you would have received an unadvertised bonus of 1/2 point towards your purchase. Since you purchased two, the rounding didn't make that modification a requirement, but you did not pay more than you should have.

Your point about "thousands of points rounded away" might have significance if they were rounding up... but they were not. They were rounding down when the situation required it, and in your situation there was no final total rounding.

You sir are the troll. If the cost is 337.5 then that is what is should say.

Yes, it should say that, and if they had a way to charge you 1/2 points directly, I'm sure it would. However the fact remains that noone is being cheated over this (unlike other posts of real issues people have experienced). I didn't state that Turbine made no error, I stated that noone was being cheated in this instance.

PLEASE dont start charging us half points of fake currency....

And you do have a recourse. Consumers always have a recourse if they feel they are being cheated. and it its:

    (Trumpets and fanfare)

Quit buying things from the guy you think is cheating you.

    EDIT
I like this analogy enough to post it.
Lets say there is a vending machine at your work that likes to steal quarters. You know it steals quarters because your co workers have mentioned it, and it took yours once or twice. Sure, it would be nice if the maintenance guy would fix the machine, or replace it if he cant. However, if you go to the machine, and it takes your quarter, is it the maintenance guys fault for not fixing the machine, or yours for using the machine you know is broken?

The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

If you purchased one at a time it would have charged 378 per transaction.

Also other 50% sales correctly display 378 at their sale point. So something or someone is incorrectly displaying the wrong advertisement price.

To expand on that, what if the only source of food was that machine? Would you just stave or be forced to use it? The DDO Store is the only source, so there is no other choice if you want to acquire those goods.

Ultimately it is the disparity of displayed price against hidden invoiced price. The value is inconsequential and is only tolerated by those that shouldn't tolerate it due to it's 'small' amount in the example.

Let it go with one point, and soon it will be mistakes of 5,10, 20 points. If it was in favor of the customer, Turbine would have addressed this a long time ago. Which as customers I find it interesting that other people don't see the global implications of a flawed system.

You seem to completely ignore the reasons given as to why this happens. Its mearly a rounding issue, but now you're acting like they're going to start taking 5-20 points extra from us. While I admit they have their mess-ups such as sale items being charged at full price and such, they typically fix those. Good luck finding an instance of them "taking" an extra 20 points from you. The only time I can honestly say I agree with this feeling of "taking" extra points is when there's someone that has the exact amount listed for an item, but in reality they're one short. As rare as that may be, I do hope that they fix it if only for that reason, not so that we as players don't have to fear the boogyman taking one extra point from us for a pack.

As far as the customers taking notice to the global implications, you're just being a conspiracy theorist here. You're acting like its their grand goal to get every single little point that they can from us, and that they're going to increase the instances of doing so. I find it more interesting that you seem to be under the impression that its going to get worse, when it's not all that terribly bad as is. They've picked up a lot of steam over the past year by going to this model. While I don't always agree with the direction they take things, I'm definately interested in the future of DDO as well as the model used for it.

I'm perfectly aware and mindful of the reason for rounding, but it shouldn't have anything to do with in game check out price and displayed invoice price, being different to what is charged and sent.

    ie
In game, and what is said is being charged

    Out of game

I wonder what would have happened if I only had 297 TP left in my account ...

You can't said to be charged one price and then have them change it on the back end without prior notice to the customer. The difference is inconsequential.

There are inconsistencies that should not be in the store, specially when real world dollars are at stake.
