    Default why they follow to downgrade our class???

    the weighted 5% hw now are 3% and are called stunning
    we haven't green steel HW.....ok they are made of cloth i understand! so should be implemented greencloth or something.........
    light prestige for me is useless.....
    heinshin not implemented......
    quivering palm is a touch skill.....and should be a distance one....
    i think our class should be upgraded....because a lot of us paid to have the honor to be a monk.

    Weighted was also changed to actually give the bonus to your DC of your fist...
    I agree about the handwraps, kinda... I mean we do have Greenweave Cloaks?
    Disagree on the palm though... it's you sending vibrations through your hand... Not across the room.
    Can't comment on the light monk point, as I haven't played one...

    look! i like monk pure, but since a 3/4 month ago i am seeing a lot of splash, just 2 lvl in monk....for evasion and that's it!! why??? because they upgraded other classes and ppl enjoy to play with.

    I first played a monk when the idea was to get high dex and ac and light was the only way to go because dark was a waste of space. Not sure why you are saying monks have been 'downgraded', monks have never been so strong, with TOD and +10 to stunning fist DCs.

    The change you refer to of 5% weighted being reduced to 3% weighted is actually a 'downgrade' to dex/finese build with no stunning blow or stunning fist. It should have no real impact of an monk with either high str or moderate wis. Monks can now hit 40DC on stunning fists 6s timer versus the 15s timer for stunning blow, and then hit the mob for a 500hp TOD or multiple burst effects if the mob is stunned

    My problem with the monk is that it is harder to get equilivent gear that Greensteel can provide at Level 12, with a lot of the monk's melee ability is backloaded for the tower rings.

    Why does everyone complain about green steel handwraps?
    they would need to add more base materials, there are no more combinations available with the current system

    That's a bad argument for implementation, could simply use 2 horns instead of 1...

    While GS handwraps would be sweet, it would simply be overpowered, and they would
    have to nerf a seperate aspect to make it work...

    I mean c'mon:

    +5
    metalline
    holy
    holyburst
    acid
    acid blast
    shocking burst
    bleeding
    (flaming burst)

    it's simply balanced as is

    GS handraps is a problem .....
    But the worst is that there are no raid/ nor epic handraps despite the fact that they create new quests and change raid loot whenever they want ......

    Why? Can someone answer this ?

    I won't argue the lack, that is an issue. But... seriously, how often have they changed raid loot? I can think of only one instance myself. Epic loot I figured was going to get a second if not a 3rd pass for them to learn what is and is not over powered, let alone what players think they want.
    Why? Can someone answer this ?
    Probably because monks here are a heck of a lot more powerful than anything they could be in PnP.

    This is the most valid point. More styles of Raid Loot weapons need to be added in general, not just handwraps. (But mostly handwraps)

    Aren't monks regarded as pretty decent DPS as it is? If so, GS would probably be too much of a boost. Sucks that they lose out on the weapon customization, but everybody makes the same stuff anyway.

    There is nothing wrong with monks. And in some ways that static 3% improved some of the crappy former 1% handwraps I had.

    You must not have make your monk, or fully understand how to utilize all their abilities to complain about needing anything.

    They really are powerful.

    As for the whole TOD ring thing... Why is it everyone gets their most powerful weapons from the shroud, something that even the worst PUGs can farm, yet monk need to run 18 successions of TOD to get their equivalent? Or am I missing something?
    Want to remain guildless or solo, but still want to take advantage of the guild renown system?

    Yeah, this is one of the two things I dislike about Monk itemization right now. I wish they'd put some weaker rings lower in the loot tables that we could use, maybe even in the Shroud somehow (no idea how). Or they could chuck one into Hound, a ring with Pure Good on it, there's nothing in there for Monks right now anyways. The Shadow Crypt handwraps were a cruel joke.

    Second, random handwrap MLs are still messed up (particularly Metalline), and this causes me no end of grief and frustration farming them. Other people just pound through the Shroud, I have to keep a small handful of quests on ransack, constantly running, constantly praying for the loot tables to be kind to me.

    People wont like to hear this, but I used a met of pg q staff and later kamas until I had handwraps to break dr. Now I have met of evil outsider bane handwraps paired with holy burst/shocking burst ToD rings. While dr breakers are needed for certain bosses, I generally will use icy burst/acid of stunning +10 hws for everything else.

    Monks came out in 2008 if I recall correctly - and I'm pretty sure the 2-splash was well established before the first one was rolled up.

    You got a point there about GS being overpowering for monks but its only when you have the tod rings.
    In the range of 12 lvl they only DR breaker is Devout handraps .
    Maybe so as not not break the balance completely introduce more named handraps at lvl 12+ or let us create GS handraps without the full abilities of min2 weapons.

    They changed the abbot loot and added more loot there i think and later they changed the staff from the reaver .
    I was making a point that they can change raid loot if they want to.

    Monks have been nothing but buffed since the day they came out. The weighted 5% thing wasn't really a nerf because it now adds to your stunning DC for handwraps.

    People splash 2 levels of monk splash to get 2 free feats (power attack and toughness is good on any melee), evasion and AC for wisdom bonus. People been doing that since monk was released years ago. Anyone splashing 2 levels of monk was never planning on being a monk in the first place.

    Despite the U5 weighted handwrap nerf/buff and Shintao monk being a huge pile o' poo (TM) dark path monks received a vast buff in damage output and flexibility through the recent implementation of doublestrike in lieu of weapon speed and Ninja Spy prestige enhancements.

    Light path monks by relation took it in the shorts, though being light path was not actually nerfed in any way, and even received a tiny buff due to the implementation of the vastly overpriced void path. I'm holding off on finally throwing in the towel and switching to dark path till the Shintao path rewrite presumably goes live with U7.

    In summary, I think monks are 'just fine' with the exception of the Shintao pre fiasco. And I think void path could use some serious examination of the AP costs to obtain.
