Question Less Frankenstein more Einstein (Splashing Rogue/Monk)

    Hey Folks,

This thread solely created to gather more information for splashing either Rogue/Monk skills and so on based on commonalities, suggestions and opinions for myself as well as others. Piecing together skill by skill, testing and trying just to restart and recreate without logic is extremely time consuming resulting in quite a few players hovering around the level 7-13 range . I recently returned to DDO and have been searching aimlessly for any types of tips/skills needed for end game content as far as splashing Rog/Mnk. (Search/Spot/Disable Device/Stealth skills, Etc.) The end question.. Just how much is enough? What would you recommend?

.What rank base skills or enhancements etc is recommended to Unlock/Disable/Search most traps doors etc at end content?

.What Feats/Skill/Enhancements have you found to be most useful in both a Solo/group play style?

    And so on......

Thanks to everyone in advance for future post(s) and any help is greatly appreciated!

The above link article is extremely informative regarding skills and a specific build as well. However, what would you recommend for more along the lines of a Melee/2Rog or Caster/2Rog/1Mnk type splash? Enough points to allow to search/spot/disable effectively in end content?

    There is no absolute answer.

    But . . .

Most locks that people "need" to open have very low DCs. Someone that takes just a few ranks of open lock and that has access to good thieves tools, gear (+15 item), and buffs, can get all of the relevant locks.

That being said, there are a few locks with very high DCs that are "nice" to be able to open. For example, VON1 epic has a door that requires a 90 to open. That's 20 from a die roll and 70 that must come from skills. Someone that wants to open this door reliably ought to invest full ranks in open lock and spend some additional effort in boosting this skill.

So, short answer: just a few ranks is enough for most locks--full ranks probably a good idea if you want to open all locks.

Search--probably want full ranks here. You can generally count on +20-25 minimum from items, skill points, and buffs. Many of the "normal" traps on norm/hard/elite difficulty can be searched with low to mid 40s search DC. So nearly full ranks is probably a good idea. Epic traps tend to be in the low to mid 50s DC.

Disable--probably want full ranks here as well. But doing partial (say 10-15 ranks) will give a fairly good success rate with appropriate gear and buffs. But if you don't want an occasional blow trap box (say on epic runs), full ranks is a very good idea.
INFERUS SUS Sorcs (Socky, Sockie, Socklin), Rogues (Sockpuppet, Sockum), Clerics (Sockington, Sockase), FVS (Sockle), Intim (Tubesocks), Bards (Sockdolenger, Sockish), Rangers (Sockin, Sockel), Wizzy (Sockut), Kensai (Sockt), Monk (Sockfist), Arty (Sockficer, Sockcraft)
