You know...
I joined a pug with my bard a couple days ago and there were two clerics in that group. One was swinging around a Min2 Falchion, the other an ESOS. Both healed us all without issue, and participated actively in taking mobs down. I was very impressed as I get irritated with heal only builds.
My main swings around his Lightning2's and heals parties and raids without issue.
My point here is that you have no idea what someone can do with their build until you play with them. And if that person was in a raid and filling the healing role, that's not to say that they don't enjoy melee. Frankly, if it fell under my name and I wanted it I'll laugh at people who complain. I share stuff with parties I am in quite often. But if I am running this raid every three days looking for item x and it drops for me, stuff it.
I'd like an ESOS as well. But after 40 VON runs it hasn't dropped for me or shown up in the end rewards list. Why I want one is of no concern to anyone else as I can make it work with my plans for my build. Being denied a roll on it is a sure way to make sure you have trouble finding a 'healer' when the next raid is run. Simple really...
