    You know...

I joined a pug with my bard a couple days ago and there were two clerics in that group. One was swinging around a Min2 Falchion, the other an ESOS. Both healed us all without issue, and participated actively in taking mobs down. I was very impressed as I get irritated with heal only builds.

My main swings around his Lightning2's and heals parties and raids without issue.

My point here is that you have no idea what someone can do with their build until you play with them. And if that person was in a raid and filling the healing role, that's not to say that they don't enjoy melee. Frankly, if it fell under my name and I wanted it I'll laugh at people who complain. I share stuff with parties I am in quite often. But if I am running this raid every three days looking for item x and it drops for me, stuff it.

I'd like an ESOS as well. But after 40 VON runs it hasn't dropped for me or shown up in the end rewards list. Why I want one is of no concern to anyone else as I can make it work with my plans for my build. Being denied a roll on it is a sure way to make sure you have trouble finding a 'healer' when the next raid is run. Simple really...

"6) Staff of Arcane Power (Globe of invulnerability) you have enough UMD to use this?"

    Seriously?
    UMD 30.
    SERIOUSLY?

Your loot your problem, rolling is up to person letting other to roll.

I have Tr cleric who was my loot ***** for her whole first life, and most of item people might consider non cleric, are actually useful for me now.

I didnt read the whole thread but if the loot drops under your name then its your loot period. I dont care what class you are because if its under your name then your choice what to do with it. I'm sick and tired of people saying they have a right to roll on loot that my name is next to or if I just give to someone else. I put plenty up for roll but dont be telling me that I have too.

Watch your pugs cuz I just finished planning my rad servant battle cleric that will most certainly be looking for an ESOS. Im in the process right now of lr'ing the current build to another class for a different past life feat, and once thats done Ill be starting the grind

Oh and so long as the cleric has mass heal, he can melee and heal just as well as stand back and heal. I prefer a cleric who mixes it up instead of sits back and watches everything myself.
... actually, even if you don't have proficiency this is a nice item. +10 to hit easily off-sets the -4 to hit non-proficiency penalty, at least for non-epic, and the x3 multiplier and high base damage is nice for contributing damage against auto-crit mobs.

The eSoS is simply nice for a lot of classes. I can see the argument for arcanes even. I would think you should at least have power attack to take advantage of it fully, but that's not much of a requirement, and anyone might choose to feat swap after they got the item.

I would agree, but its much better if proficient. Otherwise its only a +6 weapon which is only one better than a greensteel. Not that big of an improvement honestly. But if proficient its double the trouble

people are very funny when it comes to getting loot they want.

If they are greedy enough and want the loot for themselves badly enough, they will rationalize WHY they deserve or why they can use the loot more than you could.

If people get butt-hurt because you took loot that fell under your name, tell em to not group with you anymore if its that big of an issue. This game (end-game content) is centered around grinding in a lottery-like system. just because you got lucky doesn't mean someone else can rationalize why they deserve your winnings.

I will never understand why anyone would think they have a legitimate reason to whine about loot that isn't theirs. I saw people complain about a cleric actually taking the +3 strength tome that dropped for her.

Why they think they have a more legitimate claim to anything that is dropped for someone else is beyond me.
Too many toons to list, but the mains are Achewon, Westudi, and Shonufff.
