    Default Rebuild Advice

In a couple weeks I hope to cap my first character (a dwarf paladin). Coincidentally, I expect I will be unlocking 32 point builds at about the same time. I was thinking that once I have accomplished both I will GR the character to take advantage of the extra build points and also correct some mistakes that I've made in the build so far (I followed one of the pre-generated paths up to about level 12). I was hoping that someone might point me toward a build that I could follow when I do the GR. The challenge here is that I have some constraints/objectives that I am trying to meet that may be a little different than most of the elite that hang out here at the forums:

    1. I want to stay a pure paladin.
    2. I play casually, and admittedly, poorly. A build that requires good reflexes/talent or even just keeping track of a lot of clickies and cool-downs will be lost on me (I realize that perhaps paladin was a poor class selection)
    3. This is a first character, and has little money, and no raid gear whatsoever (and is unlikely to be getting any in the foreseeable future).
    4. I play solo 60% of the time, duo 30%, and PUG the other 10%. I am, and intend to stay unguilded.

I would appreciate any advice that any of you might offer.

You have not given nearly enough information about your playstyle, spec choices, etc., to be able to realistically tell you that. What some may tell you to do, may be completely against the grain of how you play.

That being said, check Junt's post, he recently updated it, so there are several great builds to choose from for guidelines.

One question; why not TR instead?

You get more points iirc, can relearn while releveling instead of being thrown into the new build with no experience on how it works and what is different and you can do a lot more quests to learn the playskills you yet don't have. TR is also cheaper than a lot of the alternatives.

Thanks. Yes, I have read Junt's guide, and the build called "Aryenne the Justifier" (dwarven DPS self healer) is closest to what I would like to play. However, that build calls for a great deal of raid gear. I wouldn't want to follow that build only to find out that it is critically flawed without the listed gear. I guess, what I was hoping for would be for one of the vets around here to ask themselves "if I could only play for an hour every other day, and had no one to give me stuff, what kind of DPS paladin would I build?"

    Does that help?

Edit: "Aryenne the Justifier" is human. My character is dwarven.

It took me 10 months to get this character to level 19. I do not intend to play for another year to TR him, At least not until I've explored the higher level content some more (which I currently can't do because of my gimpy build).

THF or TWF? DPS or tank? Have you taken any tomes or have access to any?

I am currently THF. But I am easy, I'll go either way to meet the build.

DPS. I believe that tanking is gear intensive (correct?)

+2 tomes are no problem. I have already eaten a +2 str, +2 con, and a +2 cha. I have eaten +1 tomes for the remaining stats. I have never seen a +3 tome...so I won't bank on them.
