Strange Stuttering

Hello,
until recently DDO ran just fine on my laptop. Now since about 2 days ago it has started doing some strange stuttering - the game freezes for a second to a few seconds and than just continues as normal and i miss alot of the action during these stutters. It isnt lagg, it just locks up randomly for a short period and its not that often but still real annoying.
My laptop is more than capable of running it with maxed settings (getting 35 min and ~60 average fps) and i havent changed any settings and i have an excellent connection so that is ruled out. This is also the only game that doesn this.
Is this some new bug that has been introduced with some recent update or some old one? And can you offer me any solution to this problem?

i have the same problem. Are you using an ati card?

I get the same issue or similar sounding one on my ati radeon 5470HD
