Good news, bad news. Lost my headset. I am darn close to my birthday. The Wife went looking local and came home with a Turtle Beach X-11 Headset. Sold for the X-Box 360 with 'for pc games' in small print. This thing has an auxiliary amp to the headset. So the green and pink 3.5 plug in and the usb plugs in. However the usb only supplies power to the auxiliary amp. I am hearing sounds I have never heard before. The usual sounds are different. Rendered a little better. A closer to reality sound. This headset is comfortable to wear and my dog a joy to listen with. I have had to go into the game options, audio and turn all kinds of things down really low. I do not have a sound card, just the motherboards chip. After a week I am still trying to tweak it just so. I am having a couple of problems. The mike is so sensitive it picks up my Wife's voice when we play together. She sits six feet away. I have gain turned down to 2. In the shroud with 12 people and the mike muted, it is like the mike is picking up the sounds from the ear piece and retransmitting it. To remedy this I turn the sound way down with the headsets volume control. This limits my injoyment some, however I would rather do that than irritate 11 people.

Are there any suggestions out there? Anybody else running Turttle Beach Headsets of any kind? Is there an adjustment somewhere in my computer that could help?

Thanks in advance.
