Question To get it or wait ...

hey guys, Well I hit my mark of 850 TP and I was thinking "hey I can buy monk now!" but the thing is should I wait till it goes on sale?(no idea when it will go on sale again) 795TP seems steep when for now I only have the 850TP(plan on buying the 2000pt card) so should I wait? and what else should I buy? 32pt builds? those two alone if bought at full price would drain almost all my TP, soo any ideas on what should be done?

Do you have the Vale yet?

Do you have Gianthold? And the Desert? And VoN? And Amrath? And the IQ packs? And Tangleroot and Delera's?

I think you'll get more mileage from the adventure packs than from buying Monk.

hehe yaaa I knew that was coming the thing is I'm kinda tired of the other classes and monk seems so much more interesting but anyhow I was planning on using the 2000TP mainly for those packs figuring that with those and using my monk on em I can get enough TP to get other things not many but I enjoy a grind every once in awhile

If you've farmed for TP, but not limited too, you should use them wisely. So yes wait until it's on sale.

Never buy any premium content unless it's on sale, simple as that

FYI Gianthold is on sale right now (20%off) and that puts it just under your 800TP limit. I just spent my F2P TP on it today.

    Tangleroot's also on sale.

EDIT: So's Delera's at 50% off. Holy moly.

I don't know on a specific order of importance, but sirgog's Review of all adventure packs has info on all but Phiarlan Carnival and The Red Fens - along with a few budget-based suggestions. It should help with deciding on which packs to buy.

Those I understand of PopeJual's suggestions are the higher-rated ones as well.

I think you should atleast unlock 32pt builds with favor before you buy monk. You wil be much happier in rolling up a monk with 32 points.

Agreed. More than any other class, 32 point builds really are needed if you want to roll a decent monk.

You can do one with 28 point builds but you will have to compromise something badly to do it.

My suggestion (because it worked very well for me), buy Gianthold, grind out favor (you will earn more TPs), get 1750 favor to unlock 32 point builds and veteran status.

When monk goes on sale, buy it then. You'll want veteran status and 32 point unlocks before you buy a new class anyway. Then you'll have a nice brand new 32 point unlocked level 4 starting monk and somewhere to level from 10-16 (your mileage may vary).

I started playing 2 weeks before f2p release... And I still dont have 1750 favor on my main toon (monk). Getting the 1750 favor without VIP is going to be HARD.

28 or 32 point build, it doesnt matter as long as you plan everything right and get the best weapons/gears you can find. (Monks dont have any über named handwraps so you really need to FIND the good handwraps from "the pile of random junk" (AH/guild storage/etc.))
Later you can always TR the monk with epic tokens.

ill stick with $15/mo cause i know at any moment my g/f may figure out that i play this game and cut me off, and it's easier to just cancel my subscription and pay nothing, than to save up to buy packs etc...

I got it with only having purchased Gianthold in about 2 weeks. Simply open up your compendium, sort by level, and begin going down the list completing on elite.

OK so I should buy giant hold then? then save up for monk while grinding out favor to get 32pt builds? and If I favor run all F2P quests (including giant hold) will I be able to reach 1750 favor for 32pt build? I heard you get stuck at about 1000 as F2P(perhaps I'm wrong)

Oh and btw I find myself faltering at level 8-9 it seems to be a grind anyone know a good way to get past this block?

I'd say that Vale is more important to your game in general than Gianthold, but getting to level 14 without any adventure packs is a significant challenge. Buying Gianthold will get you enough XP to run the Vale quests and will help you accumulate more TP to buy the Vale pack.
