    Default CC fail

Just tried to use a company CC and a personal CC to cover 6 of our employees subscriptions. Both CCs failed with a 30005 error. I had used one of the same CCs a few weeks prior on the turbine system and it worked. The one CC was still on file and the active CC of record. After failing, I checked with the CC company and they said nothing was wrong on their end. Since our company does ecommerce I asked if any pre-auth charges came through from Turbine, and after some digging found that six 1$ charges were made during each of my failed attempts. A pre-auth is simply a check before the transaction to make sure that the funds are available. It uses the same information as a normal charge and would fail any checks the same way a normal transaction would. Suffice to say, I'm a little surprised how crappy Turbine's ecom is and judging by all the other CC problem threads across the internet wonder how much Turbine is losing due to this.

Interestingly, the in-game DDO store allows me to add points using the same CC on file while the Turbine store throws errors upgrading to VIP. DDO just lost over $400 in six month subscriptions. We'll just stick to the free content until we get bored.

While many thoughts are running through my head about a company paying 6 employees to play DDO (ranging from gold farming to awsome bosses), my first question should be:

Did you call support to see what they said, or just the CC company?
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

Emailed, but the business part of me is conflicted handing over a CC to a company that is able to botch up their eCommerce so badly. Poor coding generally goes hand in hand with poor security. As for the subscriptions, every Thursday we have gaming night at our company. We also buy games such as guildwars and starcraft II for everyone.

    Hey Jharkin,

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. You may find some helpful information in this sticky.

I can assure you that most players are able to successfully update credit cards on our website without issue. However, since they don't have a reason to post on the forums, you don't hear from them as much.

The 30005 error now occurs if the address or card information is incorrect, or if the card company isn't verifying the address or card information (the most common issue with this is the security code or CVV/CVM) or if the card company is declining the card. If the authorization holds are going through, then it's not the them declining it. In your case, the most likely cause is a verification error.

If you're able to call, that may be your best bet.
