Any chance this could happen.....it would be so insanely awesome for people who multi-toon.
Just the LFM part...not the other stuff mind you....tho the other stuff from the who panel would be nice too.

Would be nice indeed, gives players a chance to see whether to log on their toons depending on whether there is a quest waiting for them or not. Shouldn't be extremely hard to implement, since the system itself is already there and we only need a LFM without filters (implementing them would make it way too hard - based on how much hassle the Auction House search function has been).

I agree that would be nice! It would also be nice to be able to see what toons have new mail from the character selection screen

Thanks for the long time forum user purge of Aug '10 (Sarcasm for those who don't get it)

Why not I have no need since I decide what character I am going to play before I login but it hurts me not at all and who knows maybe in the future I will desire this function.

Yes, this is part of a very old suggestion:
Fix the Social window so that it works for players instead of characters
That is, the design of the LFM and LFG features was done under the assumption that players have already firmly decided which character they want to play today. But the reality is that most people don't care much, and will play whichever of their characters will fit into the groups.
So not only should it be possible to see the LFMs from character selection, but also apply for an LFM with Char B while logged into Char A, and to set multiple of your characters LFG at one time.
And notice that a player sitting on the selection screen should be able to send/receive tells under the name of any of her characters; basically, whatever character you highlight is your name for the purpose of messaging.

I absolutely love A_D's idea of making the social panel apply to the player rather than the character. However, if that is too difficult to implement, then the OP's suggestion is still pretty good. At the very least, if could be a temporary solution until the devs can work out a total social panel overhaul.
