    Default Denied...Really???

Here is what I would like to know...if you dislike some people in a particular guild, then why must you treat everyone in that guild like ****??

Tried to join a TOD tonight on my bard, which was in the lfm that they needed one, sat there for a few mins then was denied and apparently it was just because of what guild I'm in. I know there are some not so great peeps in my guild but I'm pretty sure almost everyone can say that of their guild. But refusing to group or disliking everyone from one guild just because theyre in that guild.....really???

I've never been denied from this particular guild runs before and so am a little confused as to why now. I've also never been told that I suck or am a bad player before....but if this particular person thinks I'm a bad player then by all means let me know...just saying....

all I can say is if they hadn't denied you, but had those feelings of resentment, would you have had fun in there? Maybe not, maybe so

You could be an alt character of someone they really dislike in your guild... So much so it's not worth taking anyone with your guild tag.

At some point for the **** ppl pull.... it gets your entire guild blacklisted.

Any **** thing people do while wearing your guild tag... reflects badly on your guild.

Theres several guilds on thelanis i'll deny right off. Or never apply to their runs. Thankfully tho theres not many. And the few problem ones seem to drop off after a month or two after nobody will run with them anymore.

Not much you can do other than try to find out WHY your guild is blacklisted. and either work to resolve it / get rid of the problem person.. Or find a new guild.

Looking at your guild affiliation.... i can see why you got denied. They've ticked alot of people off for various things around the server. They're not on our list. but i know they're on many peoples hatelist.

There are approximately 14.6 bajillion players on each server and I honestly can't keep track of that many names. Considering how easy it is for someone to make a new character and level it up, especially with a high level "big brother" to pass plat and items, keeping track of the behavior of guilds is a lot easier and more effective than trying to track the behavior of individual players.

That's why I leave my guild name off of all my Forum interactions. When I say something that makes me sound like an ass, I don't want it to reflect on the rest of my guild mates.

Don't know if it was the same LFM, but I tried with my monk and got a simple "no" as answer. Don't know why, maybe for guild or something on MyDDO, never had troubles joining ToDs.

Anyway, I'm a strong believer that the raid leader has any right to refuse anyone he dislikes, so I joined something else.

I tend to just blacklist guilds because my "friends list" and squelch list are full. If it's a small guild it's no problem because I just won't care about the rest of the people, because small guilds should know better than keep idiots around. If it's a large guild I'll make an effort to give them second chances, but after repeated screw-ups I'll just blacklist the lot. Makes life easier for me.

Excuse the possible nonsense grammar. Late night post.

I see it just the opposite. I feel most small guilds are connected some way in real life and they may keep a newer or subpar player around for that reason. This gives them a huge reason to help that subpar player become better. On the other hand a large guild problaly does not know each other as well and riff raff can hide in the numbers and never get any better.

I personally I have only ever blacklisted one guild I three years of play. That was due to many diffrent players that were clueless, did not listen to directions, and voice chatted about asinine things the entire time. For me if a player is subpar I note that player and move on.

If someone blacklists my guild, I just add them to my squelch list on a personal (not guild basis). There is one guild that I don't want to group with on specific quests such as epic, as I know they have a guild rep for ninja looting scrolls.
Thanks for the long time forum user purge of Aug '10 (Sarcasm for those who don't get it)

I do a 3 strikes your out for a mounth for entire guilds, then if they screw that up once the mounth is over then they get perma auto decline. Dont matter to me if they old friends or not.

Your guild is on a 1 mounth time out for me atm also....

If You dont like getting declind for the actions of your guildies, find a guild that has a standards other then PC and a internet connection.

    QFT.

I read something on these forums speaking highly of a guild that I didn't like, so I let a couple in a pug group and they were terrible, whiney, die-baby things in a fairly easy quest for our level.
Drop the group after the quest only to pick up another guy from that same guild who ran the next quest superbly. Experience has shown me that there are usually great players hiding in not-so-great guilds.

Moral of the story...branding is all about consistency and product quality. If you open a bag of chips and 3 out of 4 times the chips are terrible...are you going to keep buying that brand in hopes that you get a good bag?

How can you "ninja loot" something in this game if all the items in a chest are assigned to certain people? The only way someone can get your loot is if you passed it to them. My idea of ninja looting is that the loot is available to everyone and someone takes the item and then logs before the item is rolled on. Since items in this game aren't open to everyone then there can be no ninja looting.

Do you even know what epic scrolls are and how they work?

He said epic scrolls.... not chest loot. epic scrolls drop on the ground from mobs killed like those cheesy collectables

In Epic quests, sometimes an Epic Scroll is dropped when a monster is killed. Anyone can pick that up, but good manners and teamwork dictate that the person picking up the scroll should either put it up for a roll (since everyone in the quest is participating and contributing to the end reward - not just the people who happen to be standing next to the monster when it died).

Ninja looting is taking loot that is available to everyone and then not admitting it or simply logging out as you describe. Epic quests have treasure exactly like you describe.

    See http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Crafting for more details.

I'm sorry that happened to you. If I didn't like someone in particular I've managed to find out all of their Alts and have them on the list. If others are from that same guild I don't deny them because they didn't do anything to me. I've recently found out someone has been real sneaky about getting into groups with me, but not anymore after I did some asking around about this certain person
    Laughing at you G.
