That's what you have a problem with?

I would have thought having scorpions climbing up my leg would be the issue, or a talking scorpion period....

Ionna is far less talkative if you don't stumble into every scorpion in front of you.

Drink an Invis Pot and run to the end of the quest. She talks far less and you can get the quest done in three minutes. Even less if you decide not to loot the giant's tomb.

Does it even work to just drink an invisibility pot and run? If you come near the guardian, even invisible, he'll hear/spot you and then you have to fight to open the way. And 3 last guardians are too close to the plate to activate it without being spotted unless you move the guardians first.

you can throw ranged weapons at walls to divert attention, haven't tried it in the quest but might be a tactic to try.

well i got by all of them but the last one, by just walking up to the switch from the right angle and very slow. The last one is standing right on top of it though, tried summoning the scorpian from the staff, but that just alerted him right away, even though I went back into sneak

Yes it works... but I have yet to successfully pass the quest on elite without killing either roaming scorpions or guardians. The problem is that you lose both sneak and invisibility when you throw a weapon, even at a wall or collectible. And the rooms are full of other scorpions that will see you and attack, usually roaming scorpions will come with them. I guess I'll just wait for update of MrCow's diaries to see how to do it

Ah... I tried going very slowly and I could sit really close to the plate without being detected (3rd guardian from the end) but the moment I touched the plate he was spotting me. At least on elite with only about ~20 of move silently. Too bad I don't have any character with real ranks in sneaking to try it.

BTW: Do you get 2 extra chests at the end if you manage to pass completely undetected? I usually get 1 for not killing guardians (while I kill roaming scorpions) and again 1 when I passed roaming scorpions but killed some guardians.

This bothers me far less than some of the things I deal with in my RL job (that thing I have to keep going to so i can keep my DDO subs going).

Okay perhaps it is way to early for me, but the mental image of walking into a room and turning on a light to find of a cow tiptoeing across the floor trying to avoid bugs has got me laughing.

    You do get 2 chests.

And the best way I've found to move guardians is with arrows shot at far away places, if that helps out at all.

The video has been sitting in the Diaries of a True Reincarnate (Melee) for a while on how to get through with invisibility. The quest wasn't changed between what was on Lamannia two months ago and what we have on the live servers.

If you do hard or elite, the quest can be ran the same way with two minor differences. You are likely to aggro a nesting or healing scorpion (such as near the second, seventh, and eighth guardians) and ensure you can pull the lever into Prince Gornard's Chamber without burning to a crisp.

Someone can still blaze through the quest without being noticed (in about 3-7 minutes, regardless of difficulty). It just requires a bit of finesse and precision (or as a tradeoff, a bit of time to invisibly move things around) to get past a couple of the guardians.

Thanks, I'll check it in a second. But I finally tried it on normal yesterday and it was underwhelming. I could do it on a level 10 wizard without any problems, the guardian wasn't spotting me even if I was sitting right before his nose. So completely different.

Yes, the trap was great the first time around... I was lucky to live through it But it can be easily avoided. I still have most problems with 3rd guardian from the end... even if I pull and kill healing scorpions I'm unable to move the guardian without aggroing the roaming scorpion in the room. And if I just sneak to the plate like on normal, the guardian will detect me. I have yet to pass this room undetected on elite The next one I was able to pass by killing healing scorpions, then waiting till roaming scorp is going back and shooting distant collectible. If I switch to sneak/invisibility fast enough I can get to the plate. In any case, I'm unable to just sneak to the plate like on normal, so difference is not minor here.

Edit: I watched the video and I see the difference now. You are constantly moving while I was trying to go slowly near the guardians giving them time to detect me. I guess I'll have to try a couple of times and get used to similar tactics, thanks again.
