    Default Suggestion : Stacking

Everyone knows that one of the most popular discussions in game chat is "Does this stack with that" and often the conversation throws different points of view and a lot of, I think unneeded speculation.

When you click an item on your person, there could be an entry that refers to how it stacks.

    Example :

Necklace of Health (where no other +CON item is being worn)

    Constitution +2

Necklace of Health #1 (where another +4 CON item is being worn)

    Constitution +2

Necklace of Health #2 (where another +2 CON item is being worn)

    Constitution +4

Necklace of Health (where another +2 CON item is being worn)

    Constitution +2

Necklace of Health (where another +2 CON item is being worn)

    Constitution +2

    ::Stacking::
Black = No other item worn that stacks
Orange = Another item is worn but as the bonus is the same, no penalty occurs
Red = Another item is worn and this item takes priority
Purple = Another item is worn and this item does not take priority

This way if anyone wears an item they know which item takes priority

While I understand where you are coming from on this, it would be utterly pointless. No stat items stack unless it is an Exceptional stat item, like the ones crafted in The Shroud and various other "crafted rewards."

Not quite pointless. While we may understand that, new players, and new people to DnD do not realize this.
I can't think of anything off the top of my head that states in game that they don't stack until people correct them. A change like this would be more beneficial than the whole BS with changing dice notation.

It's less of an issue with stats, but I would really love something like this for all the other bonuses in game. For instance, Inspire Competence offers a competence bonus to skills that unlike every other competence bonus stacks with other competence bonuses like those from Gloves of Disabling or Necklace of Haggling. The situation is made even more confusing by the character sheet UI's woeful misrepresentation of bonuses, such as representing the various monk Stance stat bonuses as enhancement bonuses that mysteriously stack with every other enhancement bonus. It would save a great deal of time and energy to simply have a "this stacks with that" key somewhere in the inventory panel as stated in the first post.

Of course, it would accomplish the same goal to have the various exceptions to the general rule of stacking fixed, renamed, or simply represented properly. I do not know which would be simpler to program, but the general thrust of the suggestion is worth supporting. There's too much in-game information on this issue that is misleading or flat-out wrong.
