Default Is no fail intim necessary?

I am working on an intimi tank and was wondering if it is necessary to get my intim up to the no fail level? There are so many other useful gs items i'd rather make than a +6 cha skill item (although if there was a feat that turned sp into hp it would be awesome).

yes in certain raids it can be a party wipe if you fail an intimidate, but not always

If you plan on being the main person holding agro in a raid through intimidate, it can be.

You can make more than one accessory and just equip the +6 cha skill item when you are intimidating.

A Cha skills item also helps with UMD, so it's (almost)always a good thing to have.

It also hits haggle, so that can help a little if you remember to equip it.

it is not totally needed, however, it should not stop you.

I only went with a +5 item..however, I added the +3 to the third tier of my immunity goggles and the +2 to my min II belt..always on.
Once you are in the 60s you are fine for most, by end game you will be in the 70s...
the only really high are hound elite (which almost no one runs) and epic DQ which most seem to despise using intim on her for some reason..

so technically, you do not need 'no fail' 79....but low 70s is preferred.

you could also build a greensteel that has the 7 intim on it and drop your 15 helm for most battles and still have low 70s....makes crafting more fun.

intimidate has a very fast cooldown. You dont need a no fail intimidate but it does have to work the second time if it fails the first. A party or raid is not going to immediatly wipe becuae your intimidate fails. Remember you also have damage aggro/ability aggro/enhancemetn aggro and so on. On mobs, high intimidate will work. On a raid boss, a high intimidate is good enough vs the "best intimidate". This is especially correct if you are a paladin, who has other hate building and instant hate abilties. As a fighter, you also have hate aggro from your stance. I used to worry about not having a high enough Intimidate and items but ive learned that its not important to have the best but you have to have a good intimidate+aggro abilities to compensate.

Really it depends what you are intimidating. If you are intimidating elite horoth or epic liliat, there might be some problems depending on the group.

Also fighter hate from stance does not work.

If your Initimidation checks will fail on a 1 roll then you are not an Intimi-tank for the purposes of that encounter.
