well, I apologize for all of my gender, unfortunately there is a great deal of pressure to, um, pad the actual equipment, experience, ability etc. This leads to the inevitable denigration and lack of respect. It is not out of an actual offensive attitude directed at females but results in the appearance of such. Often these, just pubescent, males are simply trying to not seem insecure in public when in fact they are anything but secure in their manhood.
While I certainly do not condone such behavior, please accept it is not actually intended as "real". They are simply trying to not seem what they are.
Please guide them, as you did, with patience and a firm back hand where required.
If he misbehaves again we shall give him a stern taking to.

Oh yeah, what I meant "back in the day" was before DDO went p2p.

While it was the only thing Turbine could have done to keep DDO alive, it still has its negatives. But I can't judge poorly on Turbine, because this DDO is better than no DDO at all.

I have to agree with the OP - its offensive and not something you should casually throw around to describe your actions. They're your actions you're describing, and if you think rape is something to joke about...grow up out of middle school. Its pretty hurtful.

I once had to explain to my daughter that "stupid" was not a bad word itself but context changed it. Calling an inanimate object stupid is one thing, calling a person stupid is another. Rape is another of those words where context is everything. Aimed at a quest? Meh, barely offensive tho a tad juvenile. Aimed at a person, especially out of anger, someone needs punched in the face. And as a woman, I have no issues with stating that some groups have left me feeling ear-raped with thier incessant chatter.

Yell out "Rape" in a crowded room and see how many people look around for someone being "plundered". The most common usage for it is what the OP was talking about and is what most people will think when hearing it. Besides, there are more cases of the sexual rape out there then most people know. (Am a cop and wife is CPS) I would think that someone who has had this touch themselves or a loved one would find anyone using it in the way the OP said offensive. Whether or not the party member meant it that way is irrelevant. Too many people will take it the other way and could be hurt or offended. I think the OP was right to try to correct the person as it may save him from being reported in the future when he DOES offend someone whom this sensitive subject has touched.
