    Default 18 Rogue/2 Monk Acrobat.

Hello everyone. I am pretty new to the game and upon searching around the forums I founds a few specs that I liked regarding the Acrobat Rogue path-line. I mixed and matched a few of them and made my own. I am looking for some constructive feedback about the build. I mostly play solo or with 3 other friends so the build was made with that in mind. Thanks in advance.

I suspect your stunning blow DC will be too low to warrant the feat, especially with THF. TWF get's 80% chance of two attempts to stun per activation. Deflect arrows is just plain terrible.

Why go monk? You're losing 5d6 sneak attack damage for what appears to be two feats of dubious use. You could be taking wind stance for a slight doublestrike chance (2.5%), but I'm not sure that's worth the splash.

If going 2 handed fighting lower dex and raise strength. if you meant to take the feat for fighting with 2 weapons then you would be fine with the stats you have selected.

2 handed fighting =1 weapon(Great axe, Great sword)
2 weapon fighting = 1 weapon in each hand

Ok so just stay pure then and don't worry about windstance? Also lower dex a little at start to boost STR for better dmg number with the Qstaff?

str boost will also help with to hit if multiclassing try going 2 fighter
gets 2 feats and better bab and all martial weapons.

How much more would 2 fighter levels give compared to just staying pure? Also thinking in terms of when acrobat III comes out.

13/7 is a good split for a strength based Acrobat Monk. a Pure rogue can UMD divine scrolls and can maintain a full bab as needed when not doing SA with SA your 2hit should be good enough.

IMHO, you give up a lot these days when you splash a rogue: rogue 19 gets you an extra d6 SA and bonus feat; and the new capstone (Deadly Shadow) is a lot better than the old one. I prefer monk 7 / rogue 13 for a staff build: lets you use 2nd-tier stances; also gets you an extra feat, monk PrE, Imp Recovery 2, and Wholeness of Body for free heals (mostly only useful when soloing). You do give up some SAs (although Ninja Spy would make up for some of that), skill pts, and a rogue bonus feat (or 2), as well as the possibility of Acrobat III someday, though, so it's a tradeoff. Unless you really need the skill pts or want to get Combat Expertise, consider dump-stating INT to boost your WIS for extra AC.

EDIT: forgot to mention - you can't combine Ninja Spy & Acrobat yet (both require Tumble enhs which are mutually exclusive), but Turbine will be changing the way skill enhs work sometime in the near future, which should (in theory) make that combo possible. But you may want to wait until that update is out before committing to that plan.

The two monk levels are nice for the 2 extra feats ( toughness and something...)

You can fight in fire stance for the extra STR-
For boss fights - you can fight in earth for the extra HP

    Have you looked at...

    my opinions on acrobat

I don't think a 2nd level of monk bring enough to be worthwhile. Unless you have an odd wisdom score that you need to balance with monk wisdom I. Sure the extra feat is nice but , its up to you for losing another 1d6 sneak damage from 19 rogue vs a feat .

Arguments can be made of going 3 monk to get the path of harmonious balance to get the minor healing and the party buffs and run speed and you still aren't losing level 17 for the 1d6 sneak but then you do lock yourself out of acroIII when it comes out without a reincarnate.
Plus there is also something to be said for going pure, 4 or 5d6(depending on how much splash) of sneak damage from the cap. It is kind of a choice extra speed and or damage when leveling from str or dex (when they get the dex mod to SA damage working) plus the occasional 1d6 ki strike, and buffs if you go 3monk or hold out for a big damage boost later with the cap.

What I have found at least in the early levels is that I have been in fire stance more than wind stance for the extra str and associated to-hit and damage. Does bork my spot a bit losing the wisdom as well as drop my AC a bit but hitting is more of a priority for me. I do use Wind on occasion for doing boxes and locks or when I know things are going to get hairy (so i know if i get incaped I can turn off wind to stabilize)

I have found I don't personally like the THF chain on my acrobat. I tried it both ways and found that the extra aggro you generate with the roundhouse glancing blows to be counter productive to both your SA damage and your longevity with a squishy d6 hit die toon. I just don't think the small amount of "extra" damage as enough to justify losing SA. even surrounded by mobs it just tickles them enough to get their attention when someone isn't actively hitting them.

Not completely sure which way I'm going with the feats after deciding to drop THF but for now the healing Dmarks are nice, and I'll have to play with things a bit to see if I can squeeze in dodge, mobility and spring attack since I can't seem to keep still and love running in and getting that first swing.
Move along , Nothing to see here
