Question What is the "Custom" Graphics Quality Option

After manually setting my Graphics Quality to low and playing a while I notice that suddenly I am lagging very badly. Often (rough guess 80%) when this happens I go back into options>>graphics panel and find Graphics Quality set to "Custom". When I click on it to reset it to low, I notice that there isn't even a custom option for me to select. Is there something I can do to prevent this from occuring? My first post ever. Please be gentle.

Basically when you pick one of the pre-set graphics settings like "Low", "Medium" "High" etc, those load the settings options automatically. When you make a change to an individual setting in the Options menus though you've customized the settings so now the "Custom" option is what is listed. It just means essentially that you've made custom changes to the graphics settings.

It saves it on a per-session basis so if you for example choose "Low", then make changes to some settigns to "tweak" it, but later that gaming session you decide to reset to Low, the Custom option will still be available to reset to, once you log out and back in though those settings weren't saved so Custom doesn't come up.
