    Default suggestions for paladin

    suggestions for paladin

It is by far the class where you need to push buttons the most:

Basic fight start with short length buffs:
    1. divine favor 6s/ paladin level
    2. zeal 6s/ paladin level
    3. angel skin 6s/ paladin level (ok I don't use it much because I don't have enough mana)
    4. divine might 60s

    then once in melee:
    divine sacrifice every 3 seconds
smite evil every 3 seconds until all charges are gone

    Had in the mix:
    intimidate
haste boost (fighter or rogue splash)
    monk special
    monk finisher
    ...

I think paladins are really penalized in comparison of other classes because pushing most of those buttons (except DS and smite) creates "pauses" in your attacks.
It is as well cumbersome for the player.

I would suggest 3 things in order of importance to me:

    1. transform the divine sacrifice from instant to a stance we can switch on or off and that will hit our targeted enemy every 3s (depending if the mob is at melee range, and if we have the sp/hp cost).

    2. extend the divine favor duration to be like the ranger's rams (1 min per level)
    fyi:
    rams is +1 to hit / + 3 damage
divine favor is: +3 to hit / +3 damage

    3. extend divine might to 6s / paladin level

those changes will not make the paladins stronger, it will just make them more enjoyable to play.

    your thoughts ?

I disagree. I like playing a clicky intensive character, and especially enjoy divine sacrifice and exhalted smite as special attacks you can use to take down a certain enemy of your choice faster. I would be really bored if all I ended up needing to do is hold down the attack button. Quite the opposite of what you said, it would be less fun to play my Paladin.

The only suggestion you mentioned which I do agree with is divine might (and divine righteousness). It would be nice if these lasted a bit longer, but it's no big deal.
The best part of the 10th Anniversary of DDO...the description on the Oatmeal Raisin Kookie,

I agree with Ralmeth. I actively enjoy having to juggle all my short duration buffs and special attacks. If it bothered me, I think I'd play a fighter.

Actually, I don't even really want an increase in DM duration. I don't think I'd really notice (I rarely run out, and it's not that much of an inconvenience) - but it would represent an upstat to Paladin and I don't like either the idea of power creep to the class or of giving up something else to compensate.

I cant agree more Ral. I would be bored if I didnt have to manage all those clickies. Its made me a better player.
