    Default Variety

First lemme say I've been playing DDO for a few years and I have always loved the game.

I wonder if others feel the same way I do about the races. I am glad to see the Half-Orc being introduced soon, it's long overdue. That said I know what I'm gonna see. A bunch of H/O's that all look exactly the same.

I just think there should be a little more variety in how I make my character. Maybe I want a slightly taller human or a fatter elf. It just looks like a bunch of clones in the same 20 suits of armor running around.

I just wanted to know if anyone felt the same and if anyone knew if these changes are in the near, distant or non-existent future.

I'm not sure how easy scaling your character's height would be... Seems like it may mess up animations a bit? Not sure, I don't program. ^_^ However there are many, MANY threads going around about getting the ability to change armor color/skins. This would be a seemingly simple implementation that a large portion of the player base would go nuts over.
I play this game. It is fun.

I too would like to see more toon variety. And it doesn't help that most items worn do not show up on the toon in game.
This would certainly help give more toon variety if every item worn would show in the game. But considering how laggy DDO is (at least to a big portion of the player base) not sure how feasible it will be. Would probably add even more lag to the game. Not sure.

Other fantasy mmos allow you to make your toons taller or shorter, and thinner or stockier.

creating the protocols necessity to allow us to adjust things like hight and weight would take along time especially since they would have to do it 8 times once for each race. That's time they could spend on making more quest packs.

So the choices are new quests and items... or a fat dwarf, what do you think most people will want?

Eternium (Art 18), Tatooine (Bard 19), Technodrome (Wiz 18 / Rog 2), Thanigar (Brb 14)

They would also have to check the impact on every armor model and on the attack animations.Sounds like a lot of work, although part of me does like the idea.

i can't wait for the half orcs either, as i would TR my WF dark monk for one in a heart beat.

half elves on the other hand i think is just hear say and i think a waste of time for the devs if considering variety because they are too much like both humans and elves but get none of the qualities that really make them stand out.

i think the devs would much more benefit from half orcs, gnomes ( but they are a bit like halflings in size and look ), and changlings. what eberon really needs is a race that gets + wis. this would deff change the beat of the game a bit and would see more balance of classes once again like offensive clerics and stunning fist light monks.
