Fred not showing a feat to swap on my fighter

Have a dorf fighter level 15. Made 4 years ago and am now updating him with Kensai. Saw weapon focus throwing on his feat list. Wanting to switch with something but Fred not offering it as a swappable feat. Ideas? Fred is offering other specializations that I have already taken just not this focus. Do not have specialization throwing before anybody asks.

You do have weapon focus: thrown I assume?
That's the only reason I could think of that would qualify you for others but not this one.

Potentially it could be a bug as Dev's probably never expected anyone would ever take WS:Thrown and it might not be tested

OK, this is 'Out on a limb' as I don't fully follow the dependency tree that Fred uses...

The feat you're trying to swap out... was it added before WF:Thrown?
i.e.
Lvl 1 took Exotic Weapon: Kopesh
Lvl 2 took WF: Slashing
Lvl 4 took Dodge
Lvl 8 took WF: Thrown

Trying to swap out Dodge would put WS:Thrown at level 4, which can't happen because you didn't take WF:Thrown until lvl 8, WS: Slashing would be available for the lvl 4 dodge slot because you took WF:Slash at lvl 2.

Weapon Focus is also a prerequisite for Greater Weapon Focus (and thus, also Superior Weapon Focus). I'm fairly certain I've had multiple Weapon Focus Feats on a single character at a time, and was able to swap them out, but none of those included WF:Ranged. It's also a prerequisite for various enhancements, most likely for you the first tier of Fighter [ranged weapon type] damage, however it should just reset your enhancements if you lose the Feat instead of preventing you from swapping.

Care to list all your feats and when they were taken? You can find this out by choosing the feat as the one fred will switch out (without actually going through with it).

Am pure fighter. Character was made when DDO first went live years ago so don't remember everything. Will look into the feat selection method you described and post results.

Ok here is what I have found out.

Feats that Fred is offering to swap are as follows with level taken

lvl1 toughness
lvl6 power crit
lvl8 improve crit slash
lvl 10 greater weap focus slash
lvl 12 greater weap special slash
lvl 14 dodge

Feats not listed

weapon focus throwing
weapon focus slash

I have taken toughness a total of 6 times but it only tells me the first one. Also, is tower shield a granted for fighter? If not I have that as well. I see nothing that would be preventing weapon focus throwing from appearing on the list for Fred. I understand why slash is being blocked.

Yep, Not one of the proudest moments of Fred's ability to respec feats.

how many feats before level 6. it doesn't seem feasible knowing my playing style that I would take focus throw so early since it is not a key feat to have. The only reason I can fathom me taking it is due to nothing else would have sounded good to me at that time. Now my knowledge has grown and it's hard to remember my thought process 4 years ago.

Dwarf Right?

You got 2 Feats at level 1

1 Feat at level 2

I Feat at level 3

I Feat at level 4

2 Feats at level 6

By the the way... Toughness isn't a Fighter bonus feat, If you've got it 6 times you had to take it at 1,3,6,9,12,15 using your general feat slots.

That means you -had- to take Weapon Focus at levels 2 and 4.

Any chance its on your list because of an item? There are gloves that have WF thrown on them? I have a pair on my rogue.

It may just be a but, all the feats you list don't look like they would cause it to not be available.
