I have a human paladin 18 / monk 2 build that I really am not enjoying. Therefore I find myself not wanting to run the character in order to grind out epics, tomes and shroud gear. Here is why I do not like the charcter:
The character is OK at...
- survivability with a 65 self-buffed ac, evasion, saves in the mid 30s, LOH and ability to scroll heal
and
- dps with twf with PA, zeal, divine sacrifice 2 and exalted smite 4 and the KotC3 enhancement and belt/ring set
but does not excel at either. My original goal in making this paladin was to create a solid dps build with good survivability. Right now, I am lukewarm on both
Things I am thinking of doing:
1.) Drop ac as a concern
Pros: Dropping AC would allow me to free 4 slots (Chattering Ring, AC8 bracers, IR, Protection Item). It would also free a feat (dodge) and 10 AP (aura). It would allow wisdom to become a dump stat.
Cons: 65 ac is not stellar, but it does stop a decent percentage of damage.
2.) Spec for dps focus with improved self healing:
Pros: Self healing is another way to increase survivability.
Cons: Even with CO, spell points are limited and self healing only takes you so far. It normally works well in conjunction with good AC.
3.) Drop the monk splash
Pros: Ability to get divine sacrifice 3 and capstone.
Cons: Lose two feats and evasion. Lowers saves.
Any input for how to make this character interesting? Which, if any, combination of the above steps would you recommend?
Thanks in advance for your input.
