Default New To Monk, Please Help

    Hello,
I am new to the Monk Class. I have made me a Drow Monk, with dex build. Focusing on the wind stance. Anyways several people in game have told me not to play a drow monk but do a halfling monk or even a human monk. Well my question is I would love to have a decent monk that can solo decently. I know very little about the class and feel maybe I should just remake my Drow Monk after I get a better understanding of the class etc. Please help.

    Thanks,

    Dustin

Ok I think I need to re roll then.

My Basic Stats at Lvl 1 were:

    STR-14
    DEX-19
    CON-12
    INT-10
    WIS-15
    CHA-11

I play a human light path monk, he can solo extremely well.

My friend plays a halfling dark path, and she can solo, but she has to use heal potions and stop to use wholeness of body frequently. It makes sense, of course, because light path gets things like free spammy heals (that super potency affects) and blur buffs, etc.

I've always heard people say not to play drow monks because they're deificient in con I think. If you want to solo, play a human light path monk. Human, because you get the extra human feats, which gives you, for instance, another stackable improved recovery line with the monk improved recovery.
