it wasn't uncommon prior to grazing hits to maximize AC, but not that common nowadays, but there's a GS kama skin in that thread.

It just moves up to 1d8 (1-8) damage with the same crit range 20/x2 (19-20/x2 if you have improved critical: slashing)
Its just a damage dice increase is all
