Part of the reason for this build is to simply be more self sufficient. Both splashes have merit with having adaptability versus a pure fighter, rogue, wizard or bard build. Dark, I had no idea how Stunning Fist worked but finally read it again and it has started to sink in. I'll have to add it to the build, probably not at first level, maybe sixth or ninth level, wait and see.

I have been contemplating Weapon Finesse only because of the potential higher to hit based on a high Dex build versus a Strength build. I do not have any idea if a piercing weapon (rapier) versus a slashing weapon (scimitar) will make that of a difference in the game. Based on a higher to hit probability AND factoring in critical chances, I'm wondering if the rapier would be a more effective weapon versus a scimitar. Again, this question is based on the assumption that I end up with a higher Dex bonus than Strength.

Now for the question of wanting to not give up 4th level spells versus acquiring the Evasion feat. There is a feat that I found questionable, one of the Wizard ones.

i'll be back to edit this, I'm at work now and finished my shift, and I can't leave this open

in regards to my last thread, disregard it, I cannot get back into my train of thought on it. The words are there, I just cannot get them into a semblance of order that makes sense to anyone, myself included.

A real Bladesinger would never ever use two weapon style. One sword in main hand, off hand free to form hand gestures, while sword will be used to aim more or less, though a good blade singer would have a spell touched weapon allowing it to transfer touch spells while being used to make attacks.

Although technically shields are also a no no, a mithril buckler technically has no spell failure rate, nor skill check penalty, and is practically weightless. So we did always let them use one if it also was elven made.

However as Blade Singers, though traditionally wizards in 2E. where clearly more directed towards a pure bard prestige class in 3E and on, as bard gave the exact reqs at the minimun lvl to become a bladesinger, where no matter how you mixed fighter and wizard it would take one lvl longer to qualify for. Most of the best benefits wouldnt even really belong here, like spell parrying etc. since countering spells here is not really a practice.

A AC bonus for wielding one sword, the chosen weapon, and no shield would be a good start, probably twice what tempest gets since tempest gets double the attacks. Maybe a natural shattermaantle and improved shattermantle effect added to ones attacks eventually, akin to the paladin getting ghost touch.

However I really just support something involving a battle cleric mix. best natural class for cmbat and casting in one with a few lvls in monk and a longsword, maybe a lvl or 2 in fighter, the rest in cleric for id say at least 13lvls.

However if you really are bent on using wizard. then id suggest these basic ingrediants.

32 point high elf, lvl 1 rogue, lvl take ftr, lvl 3 take rogue for evasion, from here on wizrd for lvl 17 which grants 9th lvl spells which any real wiard wants so as to tear apart space and time if provoked. U got all the weapon and armor prof you need to equip up in a set of blue shine mithril chain shirt, get a nice rapier. focus in dex and int alone. max int to start. 16 dex to start, rest in con. Eat a plus 2 supreme tome at 7, this is not an option your an elf ina dwarf and golems world. U can be a great trap monkey thanks to all the skill points to burn, you got evasion, you will be tolerable especially in the low to mid lvls in a fight if u twink abit( do not try this as your first build, a real bladesinger has a patron to finance him, i.e a high lvl alt). and by end game as long as u got the right feats, items, and enhancments, then you will cast good enough to feel good enough to wreck the world.
