I'm feeling lazy and don't have the certainty of a guild-scheduled Von 6 Epic anytime soon, so I join on my monk.
He says hi, then goes in to Valak's Mausoleum and whips out a hireling. No biggie, save I can't enter the raid and start clearing, but I mean, there's 2 of us, so it's not like we wouldn't be playing the waiting game soon enough anyway.
By the time he's done, we've got 2 more members, another monk and a paladin.
We're all standing out the front of VoN and the pally, I and the other monk zone in. About 3 seconds later the wizard drops party.
Assumedly he wasn't flagged, or something, so I repost the LFM, saying in progress.
The only difficulty being we can't clear now as our only door opener is gone. The paladin is a champion and goes on his wiz / rogue splash to smash the doors and traps.
We fill to 6 people reasonably quickly.
About 5 minutes later it dawns on me that we weren't a raid group and can't convert now because we're in a dungeon.
So we all recall out, convert to raid and zone back in. No biggie.
We get VoN 5 done; although a lot of us were familiar with it, none of us till party member 11 realized you had to walk up to the barriers around the puzzle wheels with the ring to drop them. Seems very noob now.
Eventually we finish without any real problems, but I suspect we spent an hour in there.
VoN 6:
I begin posting groups, but on voice chat am told it's just Elite and not to worry about it - just have people solo bases.
That's fine, and I post a revision with just people soloing, but the mixed messages totally understandably mess with the group, so we have:
home: 5 players
base 1: a blob of about 6 players (including, for some reason, a Hezrou and charmed fire elemental for added pillar challenge)
base 2: 1 soloer
base 3: no one.
I realise the issue when I type "how's 3rd?" and look at the dotless minimap.
No problem again, and entirely my bad as leader for not being clearer / getting a freaking mic, so I run over to 3rd.
As 3rd's pillar hits 10% I type the fateful phrase:
"Kill plz".
The not-new level 19 person who immediately charged from home to the dragon:
"You sayed kill".
"ops"
"Sorry guys i understands kill"
"I die then to open"
Your party member, noob, has died.
And this is why you shouldn't lead anything remotely complex without a microphone.
