A Problem, Possibly Caused by the TMD's Dissappearance

The poorly spelled and hastily written title is fairly self-explanatory, I guess. Ever since around August 4, I've been having some technical difficulties.
At first, I couldn't even get into the sign in screen, but eventually, I was able to get there.
But, when I at last got into the screen and installed some new pre req. stuff (loading screens), I suddenly had to install a whole series of updates in an "Update Manager" sort of thing that slightly resembled this....

-Update Programs____________________Done
-Examine Game Data__________________Done
-Update Game Data__________________35% (1254/2535)
-Disconnect


This would all be odd and annoying, but tolerably so, even though it's been taking hours to do. But, the thing is, I've had to do this twice. Plus, the number of update game data files seems kinda... superfluous, I guess. I've reinstalled DDO, but this hasn't helped, and it seems like I might have to put up with hours of this each time I want to log in.
Any ideas? Again, I think the TDM's disapearance coincides with my problems, though I could be wrong.
Also, I own a Windows Vista...

It's downloading updates, nothing wrong with that. Updates do happen.

If it takes a long time to update then perhaps you may want to talk to your ISP about faster service. This will also help to improve your game play as well.

Ok, I guess I'm overreacting.... but I've had to do this twice in one day...
I guess you could be right, though. After about 3 hours, I've finished installing the updates, so I guess I'll have to see if they make me install it all over again or not...Thanks.

That looks like the normal game updater I see when my client gets updates. I never used the TDM.
